I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a fledgling music festival just waiting to be born. I am due in November of 2007 and will arrive in Portland Oregon. Siren Nation is a 4 day festival (November 1st-4th) Thursday nov 1 is our Kick off dance party at Holocene, Fri and sat is live music at Wonder Ballroom and also on sat there will be a film festival happening at the Mission theater, and finally on sunday there will be a community marketplace and FREE workshops at the Kennedy School. I am so excited to become part of Portlands reality as my only purpose is to honor the wonderful artistry that exists in the Pacific NW women's artist and music community. I also would like to say that there will be ongoing events leading up to the festival that will act as fund raisers as well as work to inspire folks to get involved, and create a buzzzzz. Siren Nation has been inspired by many of her elder festivals, how ever I want to be different in that I am a city grrl, and also that I am inviting all gendered folks to celebrate with us. I don't want to exclude anyone from my birth day celebrations, we just want to stay focused on what it is we are celebrating, women! It will be a fun-filled weekend full of fabulous music, performance and film by women artists. there will also be a workshops and a marketplace. Siren Nation has non-profit fiscal sponsorship under the grace of In Other Words Women's Books and resources, located in Portland, OR and is one of the last remaining non profit womens bookstores in the U.S. check out them out! they are one of my best friends and can be found on my top list below.
