Crystal Thomas' mysterious lyrical charm seduces you into her sinister sing-a-long stories of suffering, hope, desire, deception, and other tricks kept up beauty's sleeve. The brooding and haunting musical landscape she creates is tenderly exploited by the incredible talents of 'The Flowers Of Evil'.
The 'bouquet' includes Crystal Thomas - Vocals, guitar & Clarinet. Tim McCormack - upright and electric bass. Clare Moore - Drums, percussion & vocals. Matt Green - Electric guitar, mandolin, dobro &vocals. Johanna Brockman - electric guitar. Brendan McMahon - Keys & Piano.
The way Crystal describes it, "We like music steeped in drama. Tales of tragic paradise. Music that is cathartic".
As the band name suggests, her music explores the dark side of natures' beauty and fragility infused with a resilient strength.
The bands performances are an emotional ride to zone out to, from blistering sonic attack to simmering ambience, at times delicate, at times defiant. The Debut Album captures all this magic.
Crystal has spent the last year in Matt Walkers studio - the 8 Track Shack recording her debut album. With Matt at the Helm as mentor and producer. The album features guest performances by Conway Savage (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds), Rui Pereira (The Drones), Jen Anderson & Liz Stringer. The album is due to be released mid 2008.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
