A compilation of rock,funk,punk,disco and a beat of the 80`s. The Funknecks create their own thump rock original sound. With comparisons to early UK punk, B52`s, Ian Curtis, Talking Heads, Defunkt and the New York no wave experimental sounds. The Funknecks are a trio of bass attitude, with the driving force of the bass being the emphasise of the sound. With just bass,drums and vocals, these guys make a mammoth groove. Karl brings his particular bass style to the mix, combined with the 4 to the floor monster foot of Tim and the enthusiastic, on going and exceptional persona of front man Dallas, makes The Funknecks something to kick you in the ass! They are about to release their debut ep,.. Bass, drums and vocals.Imagine Ian Curtis fronting a New York no wave band in 1979. All the players sing, the lead vocals having the angst and presence to make you take notice. Obscure bands like Defunkt and the Bush Tetras come to mind. Even James White and the Blacks.I see lots of capable bands but few outright stunning bands. The Funknecks are one of those bands. The vocals were scat like at times. The bass and drums weld together and without a guitar the sound is crisp and clear.The vocalist really wound himself up and he had that epileptic quality the characterized Ian Curtis.
