Lucy's Crown
The Theatrical Rock Show

About Me

2008 Biography
“this is a band that warrants calling your friends and telling them to check it out“
“cleverly worded lyrics over chunky riffs, tight guitar solos (brief enough to be a pleasant tease), and tidy bass lines, all perfectly complemented by the front woman's (presumably Lucy) sweetly coarse vocals”
Sibella Stern-Inpress magazine.
Lucy’s Crown is an experience of raw riff-rock and physical Butoh theatre.
Lucy presents a visual performance wear reality and illusion meet and indistinguishably merge.
On stage, Lucy plays an enigmatic roll- violent and peaceful, slow and manic, painfully intimate to grandly spectacular. The show is freely choreographed in stylized gestures.
The theatrical elements were born out of the desire to bring to the audience a visual dialogue that elevates the emotions and intensity of the music.
Audience reaction to the show reflects this-as they describe the show as a personal journey that is a release from oppression giving rise to a cathartic experience.
Lucy’s Crown is still a live rock band at its core. It is the music and lyrics that are the driving force and inspiration from which the theatrical show are derived.
Its members are: Lucy - singer/songwriter, Marcus on guitar, Sonny on bass and Christian on drums.
