Astro Entertainment produces high class productions and spot numbers for nightclubs and corporate events around Australia.
Producing original acts and never to be repeated shows as each number is produced and custom for each event.
Performances and shows are performed within the "Velvet Underground" of OZ.
Hopefully looking to expand overseas and take these shows on the road for everyone around the world to enjoy.
Shows have been performed to a wide range of audiences for many different occasions.
Astro the resident choreographer and producer of the shows and has been a performer himself for over 15 years. As a trained dancer in ballet, contemporary, ballroom, funk and latin. Having experience with Drag shows, Theatre makeup, Costume making and design, Hair Styling, Adagio, Circus, Burlesque.
Astro has completed a Bachelor degree in Dance @ the Victorian College of the Arts.
Astro has many experiences and achievements within the performing arts industry of Australia.
** Placed runners up (2nd) out of 81 couples in Australasia for T.V show Strictly Dancing on ABC in 2005.
**State Dancesport champion.
**Winner of the Dame Roma Mitchell Scholarship.
**Representative to the National Institute of Sports.
Astro always surround himself around creative people. Hanging around Alternative, Gothic, Underground and GTBLI clubs and people for many years. Learning many different skills from circus performers, drag queens, dancers and hair stylists etc and always being open minded about freedom of expression.
Astro is a resident producer and choregrapher for shows at Dark Events.
Darkevents are uber creative folk that are all things colourful and outlandish. Creating dress up theme events throughout the year! Choregraphed high energy dance shows with fahion parades for CYBERBALL, LASH, SPLATTERBALL, HERESY, GEISHA, PEEP SHOW
Also performed for Lectroland.com a place people that enjoy fantastic electro beats, fashion shows and being surrounded with amazing fashion instillations, full of colour and movement!
The Market Hotel a GTBLI nightclub in Commercial Rd, Prahran. Performing many times in Zowie Knox's shows. A club for the queer folk that enjoy good house music. Astro performed in a drag group called S.T.A.R (Swish, Tabitha, Astro, Regime) A weekly production on a regular thursday night.
Upstart Alley is a group that host nights of variety acts catering for everyone from politaical to edge to music to drag, something for everyonne! Being a very different night to veiw entertainment this favour of night is becoming widely popular to attend.
Xchange Hotel is a nightclub in Commerical Road, Prahran. Mainly performing Drag spot numbers every 2 weeks on a Wednesday or a Thursday night. Hosted by Barbra Quicksand or Tabitha Turlington.
Stingo Hotel is a new veune Astro has peformed at on a Sunday. Nights hosted by good friend Anita Beer. Very camp night for a lazy sunday goers and loads of drinking with sausage sizzle in beer garden.
