Hold my monkey !! ......I have been in a ton of bands, and people what they weigh today, thats a lot

About Me

So that is S-k-a-u-g-h-t ( spelled with one T cause its a cheap Scottish thing. ...lol ).
I am trying to make it easier for bands to find available drummers, and help drummers find bands.
List of drummers who have demos of their playing :
Drum Circle - drummersinexile
Boris - boris45 , the3rdstep
Mike Fanning - mikefanning
Iliossteryannis - iliossteryannis
Daniel Hausman - progmymetal , theclassriot
Tommy Night - formulatedfame
federovdrums
Toronto bands looking for a drummer and have demo :
cjsleez
narthex
defective by design
jameskingcrew
leightonbain
lucianthomasmusic
sufferthesoul
igorsband
ofaolainburns
kaysun
rhdband
chaosincourage
sufferthesoul
fantoalysteria
apesmusic
anthonydiaz7
theclassriot
jackofspadesmetal
I hear all to often how there are not enough drummers to go around. Here is why :
1. Drummers have a lot to carry and may not have wheels to get from place to place
2. It can be physically demanding.
3. It can be hard to find a place to set up a kit and/or practice.
4. A starter kit can cost the same price as an amp and guitar and/or bass. And in most cases there are the additon of cymbles and stool to buy.
5. There are personality clashes. Artistic differences. which leads into.........
6. Loosing interest in drumming altogether.
7. Not able to keep time or can't play live shows
Easing the cost to those starting out :
1. Find a rehearsal hall or friends place that has a complete kit with cymbles ( The cymbles may be not the best condition but you get what you pay for, actually the only thing you may have paid for at this point is the hall and sticks.)
2. With the purchase of sticks only, you can play on pillows/leg/dead corps down by the river, whatever you can find. Most will buy a drum pad for that realistic rebound control. If you can beg/borrow sticks then your on your way.
3. Find a band at your playing ability as soon as possible to keep your self in check. Friends will do nicely and if they have something on you that is a bonus. The more people in the band the less it costs per person to rent a fully equipped hall/room.

I am looking at upgrading my kit and maybe switching to Sonor, Mapex, or DW. I am currently not endorsed by anyone but I am open to the idea. The Instruments I choose I truelly believe in or they would not be part of my setup. Additional add-ons not mentioned above include -
Meinle
LP
Rhythm-Tech
Dixon
Gibraltar
A comfortable stool makes a world of difference, if you play sitting down.
Gibraltar Air ride
But enough about all that !!
Find the pocket and the groove, listen to the way the lyrics pop and sizzle. A predetermined pattern can hurt a song really bad. Let it come out of you naturally.
