Paris- FRANCE Former New Orleans singer/guitarist R J. Williams/Juju Child, is a supporter of efforts to bring more understanding to the plight of New Orleans residents after Katrina. Williams lived in both Mississippi and in Louisiana, where he studied with the Great Alvin Batiste, one of America’s most noted Jazz educators of New Orleans’s and world musicians. After Katrina, Juju Child led an effort to support local musicians with the aid of an international array of blues and soul artists who came together to create ways of assisting those affected. The former French Quarter musician/painter is working with a wide network of individual and corporate entities who continue to highlight the challenges of bringing the spirit of the people back to their homes. In the coming Issue of Blues Again Magazine he talks about the personal oberservation of family and friends devastated by the catastrophe and aftermath of Katrina. !
