About Me

Archuleta A Chisolm is an inspirational writer, author, poet, facilitator, writing coach, and speaker. She is the Founder and Director of Artfully Speaking - encouraging people, particularly women, to achieve success over their struggles in life and walk in their destiny. Born in Kansas City, Archuleta began writing poetry and short stories at the age of ten. It soon became an outlet for handling extreme verbal and sometimes physical abuse at home. While a junior in high school, she was raped by a boyfriend on prom night. Two years later, she was assaulted by a stranger. She survived out of depression and wanting to take her own life to emerge as a voice and light for all women. She realized that writing and speaking was not just a hobby, but her God-given purpose and passion. Her testimony and down-to-earth personality relates to all audiences she comes in contact with. Archuleta spent eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve, which helped pay for college. She served with the 325th Field Hospital Unit in Independence, Missouri.Archuleta currently serves as Director of College Relations for the National Black MBA Association (Kansas City Chapter), member of Kansas City Hospice Speaker's Bureau, The Writer's Place, KC Poets, Kansas City Writers, and Divas In Christ Network. Her book, Heaven Knows Your Existence: a collection of poetry and prose that speaks to the soul, is available on her website at www.archuletachisolm.com, or if you live in the Kansas City area - Barnes & Noble (Leawood, KS), and the Christian Book & Gift Store (Olathe, KS).
