I WAS ONLY 38! by Cecelia Rawlings Thorner, 1995.
Andrea Ravinett Martin, 1946-2003. In 1992, she started the Breast Cancer Fund in her living room in order to transform the breast cancer epidemic from a private secret to a public health priority. Under her leadership, the organization grew to a national force with more than 70,000 supporters. In 1995, she made and joined a team of 17 breast cancer survivors to climb Mt. Aconcagua in the Argentine Andes, the highest mountain in the Western hemisphere. The climb raised more than one million dollars and made headlines around the world. It also showed the world that anything is possible if you take it one step at a time.
