About Me

YO I'M TOMBOY - DJ slash PRODUCER slash DRUMMER IN WHOMADEWHO.
I recently released my solo album on the German electro-funk-pioneer label Gomma and a part from that I've done loads of remixes for artist like Bloc Party, Gorillaz, Chromeo, Digitalism (wmw), Peaches (wmw) (for more ch-ch-ch-check my Myspace.com/tomboyremixes).

As a DJ I've lately played legendary clubs like Fabric (London), Trailer Trash (London), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Goa (Roma), Small (Milan), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Lux (Portugal), Showcase (Paris) Vega (my hometown cop-city)....just to name a few.

The TOMBOY history
I have played drums since I was 10 years old, but at some point in my late teens I decided, that funk and rock was boring. After having owned a recordplayer, an Atari and an Akai mono-sampler a couple of years, I slowly started djing and producing some house. Since then I have been doing loads of club oriented music, both alone and together with my old friend Kasper Bjørke. After some years in the straight clubscene the live music was slowly catching in on me again, and I realised that maybe rock and funk wasent that boring - I needed some more organic and analog and both Tomboy and Whomadewho came a long. Since then I have been touring like maaaad, with Whomadewho as a drummer and doing a lot club tracks on labels like Gomma, Kitsune, Get Physical Music and Turbo.

For most of my life, the only two Danes I knew were: GREAT Danes, those big dogs...and that big Danish goalkeeper. Then I started Djing all over and meeting lots of Danes. One of them was Tomas Barfod, a genius, who makes so much good music I have trouble keeping track. He's involved in WHOMADEWHO, he is TOMBOY, and he does more solo stuff as well. When I got a demo CD I freaked out and tried to sign all the tracks.....and this first 12inch on Turbo is the fruit of my labour (or I guess HIS labour).
4 tracks of magic, groovy house music. Moody, building trance-house. Chopped up funk-disco.
I could try, like an idiot, to write more things like : funk-filled-groove-injected-modern-post-disco-house-bombs... . Or things like "aphex-twin shares a drum machine with etienne de crecy in a 70'd era duplex in chicago"
Or I could just tell you a story about how I was at a hotel gym in LA, minding my own business, playing these tracks on the "ghetto blaster", trying to decide which ones I liked best...when in walks......MICHAEL DOUGLAS!!!!! ....and after "grooving" for a few minutes tells me "this music is great, man"
Don't trust me....trust Michael Douglas: movie-star, oscar winner and SEX addict.....he LOVES Tomas Barfod.
Love
