The Danish scene has evolved a lot over the last years, with acts like Trentemøller, Martinez and Whomadewho. The new label Tartelet Records is rising from the horizon of the Copenhagen club culture. Tartelet Records is founded by Fredski (the man behind the greatest Copenhagen parties ) and Tomboy (aka Tomas Barfod, DJ, producer and drummer of Whomadewho, with previous releases on Turbo, Kitsuné , Get Physical and Gomma). The two founders themselves are also behind this first Tartelet release, which is a true showcase of what the label stands for: Tech-house with multiple flavors like ghetto, funk, disco and a bit world. The A-side ‘Do the Tartelet’ is a schizophrenic yet effect full combination of sampled horn-madness, hand claps and techno bass. On the flip side ‘Cereal’ sounds as if James Holden and Paul Jonson were trying to make minimal house together. The future releases from Tartelet promise remixes from world-league remixers (tba) and tracks by Danish kleshmer-techno-reggae band Analogik DO THE TARTELET

Claude V Stroke (Dirtybird): “ Nice to have the vinyl. Cool Record. â€
DJ Gio MC-505: “This is the new label from Denmark and sounds like a new platform for ideas and music without border. For the first catalogue number we have two surprises: "Do The Tartelet", a result of combination of horn-samples and furious techno-beats and "Cereal", a dirty minimal style with powerful bassline imported from d'n'b. One of the founder of label is Tomas Barfod (Tomboy, WhoMadeWho to name a few): a guarantee!â€
James Flavour (Dirt Crew): “crazy a side. good start fo rthe label!!â€
Laurent Garnier (F-Com): “the A side is soooOOO damn funky The bass is fucking enormous Can't wait to play this on a big system It will drive them nuts Full support â€
Only For Dj's Mag (F): “Nouveau label danois tenu par Fredski et Tomboy. 'Do The Tartelet' (127) est un morceau original, avec un riff de cuivres jazzy détourné qui met bien l'ambiance et contraste avec le kick plutôt dark. En B, 'Cereal' est un peu comme si Paul Johnson et James Holden voulaient faire un disque minimal ensemble... Non conventionnel, ce disque est vraiment intéressant. (LU)â€

Following the succesful debut ‘Do The tartelet’, which received massive support from both the techno and house scene (djs like Laurant Ganier, Claude Von Stroke, Erol Alkan), the Danish label Tartelet pulls another rabit out of the hat. Their 2nd release is kind of an oddly beloved fellow as Tartelet teams up with the Danish band Analogik and release their track ..Hov.. together with a couple of remixes. Analogik are well established in the Danish reggae scene with their original blend of balkan, reggea, minimal and breakbeat. The two guys behind Tartelet (Tomas ‘Tomboy’ Barfod and Frederik Bille Brahe) discovered the orginal song a couple of years back, but this release is their way of transforming it into a magnetic club thing. With remixes from techno magicians ‘Ink & Needle’ and The Menu, the track is spoiled with an amazing house-rerub. If you like stuff like Nôze, Dop, Samim, Lemos or Marco Carola you will love this. …and by the way ‘Hov’ means ‘Ups’ in Danish.

Angel Molina (Sonar Music): “love Ink & Needle remix, my biggest support to this detroitish track!â€
Brodinski: “ i play that for sure!!â€
Dj Misk (AltroVerso / Italy): “ink and needle remix is for me. i've to say that i like the harmonic solutions they've used for this dazzling version.â€
Dj Strobocop (Kareoke Kalk/Kom: “ thanks for this tune I Love it.â€
Dop (Circus Company): “the track is GREAT !!beautifull melody and grooves.Smile and vodka on the dancefloor !â€
KIKI (bpitch control): “ I love the menu sarracin mix and will hopefully find the right moment to play it out!â€
LUCIANO (Cadenza): “ Great stuff!â€
Robbie Akbal (cityhall): “The Menu Sarracen rmx is the one for me,, like simple style of it, and all the horns and keys on it.. a really happy tune...Will give a play !!â€
Responsible for this Tartelet release is debutant MHM One aka Morten Halborg-Møller. He’s a local lad from Copenhagen who has decided to give something back to the world of electronic music that he loves so much. Before he decided to sit in the producer chair, he spend huge amounts of time on his Copenhagen based Kill Your Telly promotion. A Promotion which has more than 5 succesful years on it’s back and has featured a huge tally of big name bookings. Said promotion at which he started out his DJing career resulting in him being one of the most sought after DJs in Denmark. Being the creative and gifted spirit that he is, music and clubbing is not the only thing that keep him occupied. He also expresses himself via visual artwork earning the fourth spot in the renowned graphic art collective that is Bottega Areté…. and oh yeah …did we mention what a nice bloke he is? A1: The A side features a funky little groover that will fit well into a club where punters prefer to dance. The track is build around a playful bassline hook accompanied by a simple and catchy vocal (by Who Made Who member Tomas Hoffding) A really sweet minimal workout for sure, that really does the trick. B1: On the flip side we get served a dish of bass heavy house. This time it’s Dutch house supremo Melon who sorts out the remix treatment and turns Bubububadub into a tribal’ish affair. Suited for big clubs? Check. Sexy? Check. Playable? Very much so.

After the success of the Tomski*Fredboy, Analogik and MHM 1 releases, Tartelet gets local again and teams up with one of Copenhagens producer heroes, James Braun. So far the label has been getting massive support from Erol Alkan, Claude Von Stroke, Loco dice, 2000 and one, Tobi Neumann and Kiki, to name a few, but this release wont stop the good dj-karma. James Braun is mostly know in Denmark for his amazing remixes and productions of various Danish bands, but also known in the rest of the world for his remix of LA Style’s ‘James Brown Is Dead’. James Brown may be dead, but James Braun is very much alive. The Tracks: A Spanish Fly: is the track that always makes the girls clap, for real - check it out. B1 The Shakers: is the track that always makes the girls shake….no, actually not, but it works so fine on a big system - piano stab techno. B2 Oi, World this is Copenhagen: Guaranteed by the Tartelet A’n'R staff as the best Dub Step track, ever. File under: ‘love affair between Riva Starr and Supermayer’

"In the moment of time Wareika gives an introspektive of their music on Tartelet Records/Denmark.
With the grace of gliding movements „ascending/descending“ opens up their spiritual soundsystem. Based on measures 7-8, it will be a container shipped by music lovers to the isle of classics. „Baracuda“'s basement is the tempo, and the hypnotic 5-4 bassline lurking down there underwater, recently surfacing to catch some ears, hearts and souls."
