This space is dedicated to a selection of press quotes about the music of my recordlabel Yebba Music.Go Out, Yebba Music 2005.
“Audacious guitar work…On this album, the guitar player Jeppe Kjellberg makes a different contribution to the instrumental genre, exploring the guitar's “sounds,†rhythms and effectual possibilities layer upon layer in a muddy and minimalistic production…Kjellberg is assisted by the American slide guitarist David Tronzo and by the Danish punk guitarist PeterPeter...The experimental playfulness testifies that this music is wrought of hard manual labor by the sweat of the master's brow…David Tronzo used to be Kjellberg’s teacher in New York, and their ensemble works nicely, striking a bluesy keynote in a steady delta rhythm, Tronzo’s slide guitar conveying to its listeners a sense of longing for the warmer skies of the Southern swamp… PeterPeter’s appearance pushes the playing and expression in a different direction of vaster sonority and a mix of distortion and quiet chords, where the two guitars almost work each other into a sound that manages to appear as a complete entity of beauty and horror, which among others the beautiful title song ‘Go Out’ testifies…

Featuring touches of hillbilly country, gyrating Captain Beefheart atmosphere through rumba to hypnotic space rock …The fact is that Yak Værk places us in a very unusual, unpretentious, and unorthodox universe as indeterminable and unintelligible (pardon my French) that one is tempted to reject it as the result of momentary insanity...it points in all directions, yet seems to revolve around the absurd, the avant-garde, and exactly the indeterminable, in this sense, Yak is a band with a fully unique expression...
