Influences: Indeed. Nothing comes from nothing.and spoken with a little more words...Tahloula is a non-cliché meeting between an old school tap shoe and a brand new sequencer. Malou T. Barfod (creator and vocalist) had the idea to bring out her love for swing and New Orleans jazz in an electronic, almost technofied environment. She did so by making some renowned producers (Tomas Barfod, Scott…) cut some swinging club tracks. Next step was to metamorphe the tracks into a live-session-kind-of vibe. In came jazz Excellencies Morten Ærø and Mads Mathias. They brought the right kind of jazz-progressive drums and saxophone madness. On stage the trio brings a warm, free, move-your-feet flavor to the listeners, connecting the swing feel with club/rave elements. Quirky melodies make the expression whole, as they shift between soft blue notes and unpretty rawness.Tahloula will be releasing her first EP on Tartelet Records January 2009. She is already feeling the love from incredible producers like Robag Wruhme and Onur Özer, who are thrilled to be remixing her tracks.
