Ann plays guitar and a few other stringed things like lap steel and mandolin. As a composer/songwriter, she has: toured in Europe consistently for 10 years, received lots of nice press from well known publications such as Billboard and HARP and from local papers both in the States and Europe; written music for three documentaries for French television (one on William Burroughs and two on sustainable agriculture); written music for THE ENERGY FACTORY (an organization committed to tackling the growing problem of child obesity in the United States; written music for Metro Music, Inc. (a hip and happenin’ NYC music library situation). As a guitarist, she was a featured soloist with Ani DiFranco on several shows; she has had the honor of playing with Kate Pierson of the B-52s, Joan Osborne, PM Dawn, Toshi Reagon, Randall Woolf & Maurice Sendak (for a ballet of "Where the Wild Things Are"), Keri Noble (lap steel and guitar), Sara Lee, Natalie Imbruglia, Mary Lee’s Corvette, Jon King (of the Gang of Four), the American Composers Orchestra (concert at Carnegie Hall), Kismet Lyles, among others.
She was a guitar coach for Saffron Burrows in the film, "The Guitar", to be released sometime 2008. Ann has also produced a fewartists with her partner, Tim Hatfield, of Cowboy Technical Services. Artists include: Sara Wendt (myspace/sarajwendt) for City Canyons Records and Tina Cernero (gospel). Ann was the recipient of a grant to attend the MacDowell Colony in the summer of 2000. In fall of 2005, she was invited as a guest teacher at the Danish Rythmic Music Conservancy along with 15 other teachers from NY and LA. She also volunteers for Musicians on Call, an organization that books musicians to play for patients in hospitals.
