Over the last few years Kim Fai has built a reputation for delivering Solid productions and floor shaking Dj sets. Gaining support from some of the most respected names in the industry, Kim has produced and remixed for undoubtedly some of the world's most respected dance music labels. The end of 2007 saw Kim's Most successful release. His remix of Funkagenda's “What The Fuck” [Toolroom] Reached No16 in the Beatport Tech House charts and has been hammered by some of the worlds biggest Dj's/producers including Roger Sanchez [see video].
Kim has been tucked away in the studio for the last few months, Tightening and tweaking his skills and the results speak for themselves. Toolroom's head honcho Mr Mark Knight immediately signed 4 of Kim's original productions, followed by Big Love Digital's Seamus Haji who quickly snapped up 4 others. Both are to be released as separate E.P's over the next few months on all major digital download website. This is a great personal achievement for Kim who has been a consumer of both these labels since they started.
As well as original productions Kim has had remixes out this year on Trophy Twin's ever growing PopPop Records and newly founded Breakloose Records, with forthcoming remixes on Big Love Digital and Bomb Squad. Kim will also be doing some very special collaborations this year with Funkagenda, Micky Slim & Paul Thomas so watch this space!
Although production as taken up most of Kim's time recently he has still found time to get behind the decks [well, CDJ's nowhere day!] making his first appearance at Mission in Leeds and Area 51 in Manchester. With forthcoming gigs in Australia, Austria, Canada, Switzerland and Poland as well as Playing up and down the United Kingdom this is sure to be Kim's busiest year to date.
