Lot Lizards

About Me

Like most bands it all started with a drunken conversation in a rubbish club in London watching a succession of terrible bands in summer 2005. Lemmy Caution (Black Time) and GG Cicciolina (ex Kill, Kill, Kill) united by a love of not only early punk innovators like the Germs and Crime but also more recent garage goodness like the Oblivians and Cheater Slicks decided to put together something without guitar solos or Ludicrous drum breaks and the plan was to start right away...A real drummer was needed to put it on a stage so the search was on, enter Meg... Since her band was in the process of falling apart she agreed to give it a go. Subway Slims lasted for only a handful of shows before Lemmy started getting busy with his full time band Black Time. With a more stripped back sound there was no room left for unnecessary flash and the newly christened Lot Lizards moved forward at a sprint, quickly writing close to 30 songs in their first few months together. It wasnt long before they got on stage and ripped out their unique version of punk/garage scuzz. Everyone who saw them couldn't decide if they were more like the Mummies, Black Flag or Pussy Galore, they didn't care they just played. Making the rounds of the usual clubs like corn rocket and dirty water playing with bands like the Masonics and Black Time, before making a brief trip up to Nottingham to play with local luminaries the Hip Priests. After drunkenly berating an entire room full of Elvis fanatics at the 12 bar (beautiful to watch), they landed a coveted slot at the Spitz festival of Blues opening up for Australian punk blues legends The Scientists. With debut single “Leave me alone I?ve got a bomb” due out in August on New Zealand?s Perpetrator records and plans for more shows and recordings over the summer things are looking good. Stay Tuned…
