SINGER, SONGWRITER & GUITARIST - or something else

About Me

*************************DO I LOOK OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE BEEN IN BANDS FOR OVER 40 YEARS?*************************TONY LEVY is available with Acoustic Guitars and/or Electric Guitars & Vocals (and with various bands, as required) to play live or in the studio(play with anyone I'M A MUSICAL TART!)Email: [email protected]*************************Check out TONY LEVY's Musical Bio(What I've been doing musically for over 40 years!) CLICK HERE*************************Some of my current Musical associations:*************************Check out one of my Bands - RockSalt - Live in 2005:Bluesy Guitar Solo - "Doctor Feelgood" ********************************Classic Guitar Solo - "All Right Now" ******************************Recorded by Sound Engineer: Nathan Lucas on his mobile phone!!! (sorry about the poor quality - it's just a taster!)************************************************** CD REVIEW:- "......The songs obviously mean lots to Tony, being a journey through 40 years of his life, which has now hit a rich musical seam......His guitar playing is rock based and is as solid as one, no capo tasto for him, all keys are under his control at a whim. On the CD, musical divas surround him......, but always at the front is Tony, enjoying himself hugely......will love this because it's Tony and he's special......" Jim Ellison, Tykes News, Summer 2006************************* NOTABLE RECENT QUOTES:- "......and now for something completely different - Tony Levy." Jenny Scott, BACCApipes Folk Club, Keighley 2003+"You need to record that song...... and when you do, I want a copy of it." Nigel Schofield, Free Reed Records 2004"I thought "Swan Flies" was amazing." Maggie Boyle (Grace Notes) 2005"......it's a good little album this......very very nice, professionally produced......well worth playing a track for you......I think it'll charm you." Tim Moon, Folk Us! 43, BCB Radio 2006 (Archived at Radio Britfolk)"......it was great - and I have to say I was really impressed with both the guitar & vocals on Killing Floor." Jim Lawton 2006"I love Piggies. Especially with The Bill bit. Very Blockheadian/Duryesque indeed. Nice work Tony." Lee Harris, The Blockheads 2006"Good stuff Tony! Like All Right Now. Kossoff would be proud." Jon Gomm 2006"......have listened to your CD and enjoyed mesel doing so. Wow, Loads of talking points there - influences, styles......etc. I thought I even felt an Incred String Band tinge in a few places! Good fun, grand." Duncan McFarlane 2006"I've never heard of you......" Ian McLagan 2006"Mr Tony Levy was next up and thoroughly entertained the Henry Boons crowd with his humurous songs and fretwork. He even unleashed his new electro Ukelele, a first for the Henry Boons stage. Tony has been a great supporter of our acoustic night and it was great to see him on stage instead of in the audience! My favourite was "Piggies" where Tony cajouled the Troubadors, Tracey Chapman Smith and Pete Neame (who had travelled from Surrey to be here!) to join in the chorus with vocals and kazoo's! Classic!" Steve Chapman Smith, Promoter, MySpace Acoustic Night, Henry Boons, Wakefield 2007"I am delighted to be Tony Levy's warm up man, as he did such a great job for me as my warm up man, last month!" Tich Frier, Singer Songwriter, Whitby Folk Week 2007"A special thanks to Tony Levy, who organised the “Live” music at the Cobbles and Clay café, without dedicated and genuine music-people like Tony Levy the “Live” music scene would be a very desolate and barren place." Paul Abraham, Freelance Music Journalist, Leeds Music Promotions, Haworth Arts Festival 2007"Tony Levy our long time supporter gave an impromtu 3 song set to finish the night and had the HB crowd in hysterics with his witty observations on life in the Levy head! Cheers Tony" Steve Chapman Smith (again), Promoter, MySpace Acoustic Night, Henry Boons, Wakefield 2007"Thanks for doing a great MC job!" Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Folk/Acoustic Duo, Otley Folk Festival 2007"Enjoyed playing those songs with you last night...was handy having the audience playing drums for us though...I think the bass would have sounded empty if it wasn't for your great guitar work..." Ricky Silvers, Bass Guitarist, Last Orders; North Country Boys and duo with Anne Jackson, Wharfe Unplugged 2007"Thanks for coming over to the New Inn last night and thoroughly entertaining the crowd." Anna Ashworth and Mike Kneafsey, Promoters, New Inn Electro-Acoustic Sessions, Clitheroe 2007"Below Zero advertise themselves as "a cover band" and so they are. However, there are cover bands and cover bands, and this lot are good. They are also bloody loud. We were treated to a wide range of material from Robbie Williams to Led Zeppelin and AC/DC all at a level of decibels that would have put a 747 to shame. It's always a good sign when a pub is as full at the end as it's been all night and the crowd are shouting for more. Below Zero kept this crowd on heat right to the very end. A really good night! I enjoyed it." Pete Abrahams, Landlord, The Owl, Rodley, Leeds 2007"Tony Levy brought his seasonal show to us as usual with his witty take on life in the North from a Southerners view! and of course the show wouldn't be complete without cajouling others onto the stage! Andy and Mark from the Troubadors didn't have a clue what they were expected to do but pulled off a blues in E admirably! My favourite bit though is when the electric ukelele is brought out!" Steve Chapman Smith (yet again), Promoter, MySpace Acoustic Night, Henry Boons, Wakefield 2007"Thanks very much for performing at Cross Roads on Monday. I really enjoyed it - "eclectic" really is the word. The Christmas stuff was a scream!" Martyn Johnson, Promoter, Cross Roads Folk Club, The Cross Roads Inn, near Haworth, Keighley 2007"Here is our MP3 of the week. It's by Tony Levy, a local lad who resides in Keighley, although originally from Hackney in East London" The Durbervilles Folk & Roots Radio Show, BBC Radio Leeds 2008"Hey Tony, thought you were a bit of a legend last night, proper old school entertainer in a Bruce Forsyth kinda way, which is a compliment of the highest order!.....thanks very much :) you did a great job compering" Rowan B & Ella, Room To Move, Young Indie Rock Band, Glusburn Institute 2008"the legend that is tony levy.....cheers for last night dude" Gods of Hellfire, Metal Band, The Gasworks Bar, Bradford 2008"Thanks for all your help and support last night! Hope you had fun! xxx" Miss Star Dust Syron, The Bone Shakers Burlesque Troupe, The Gasworks Bar, Bradford 2008"Thanks for compering, Tone. It was great to meet you, and everyone involved was grateful for your assistance in making the Uprising vs. Skewed Circus event a night to remember." Don, Promoter, Skewed Circus, Komedy Kollective Arts Co-operative, The Gasworks Bar, Bradford 2008"Hey, thanks for coming down thursday. Im looking at putting on alternative acts like we had on thursday at each of our Uprising club nights so maybe we can work again in the future :)" Spike, Promoter, Bradford Uprising, The Gasworks Bar, Bradford 2008"Hi Tony, it was great to meet you at the weekend. You helped make the weekend for all of us. Top bloke..." Graeme Carroll, Sound Engineer & Brother Crow, Acoustic Duo, Kirkby Fleetham Winter Warmer Weekend 2008"Tony Levy opened the whole event giving us folk, but not as we know it with plenty of witty songs and banter. Tony did an excellent stint as M.C. as well.......you should invite him to be part of your festival too. The world needs people like Tony....and boy can his other (better?) half, Sian, sing or what?"
