I guess it's been 4 years now since a stiff southwesterly breeze blew this New Mexico native into Music City USA. A lifelong lover of music as well as the written word, little did I know that these two would one day meet in a collision course with destiny after a fateful remark by a friend.After reading a poem I'd written to an amiga of mine who had her own band, she said to me, "Wow, put a chorus to that and that would make a great song". WHAT? A song?? OH..... write songs!!? So from then on, everything scribbled on my pad included a chorus.Of course I didn't have a clue how to write a song, but that didn't stop me! I kept writing and then I did attend a John Braheny workshop in Santa Fe which helped me make the decision to move. John critiqued some of my lyrics and told me I had 'good raw talent'. That was sweet music to my ears!So one day several years later, and still dreaming, I finally decided to let that dream carry me this way. Shortly after arriving I had my first co-writing experience, which I found to be quite interesting! As a result I was able to create a song that I entered in the Nashville Song Search contest in 2004. I was very surprised, and honored, to have been awarded an honorable mention in a contest that almost 2000 people from around the world had entered! I can honestly say this has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I've met some super people, made some great friends from around the world, and have learned so much....and will continue learning until I'm not around to do so anymore.I've loved all my co-writing experiences. Without them I wouldn't know what I know, and for that I treasure each and every one. I want to thank everyone who has believed in me and supported me on this journey. I love you all!I'm here for the long term and if I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you, I hope to someday!
