Native Tennessean, Joel Shewmake has been writing and singing since he was about fourteen years old. Influenced by great singer/ songwriters such as Don Williams, Merle Haggard, Dan Seals, Verne Gosden, John Anderson... and many more old school acts. Joel has found a love for traditional country music and loves to try to keep it alive to the best of his abilities. While playing nightly in clubs all around and outside of Nashville Joel is quickly earning a reputation as an artist with a very enjoyable, easy to listen to show, proving that he can back it up live just like on the cd.
Joel made the move to Nashville in early 2001 from his home in Cookeville, Tennessee, after years of making the drive daily and nightly. He soon found himself writing songs professionally for one of the largest publishing companies in the world. Since then, Joel has moved on and is now working and writing songs for Amylase Entertainment and still plugging away in Nashville making the illusive dream called "The Music Biz" come to life. There in no questioning that Joel has never forgotten where he came from, keeping his level head and kindred spirit about himself. While never forgetting that it takes a long time and a very thick skin to make it, Joel keeps faith in knowing one day he will!
