About Me

Rob started seriously performing his senior year in high school and was fortunate and talented enough that, at the age of 19, he appeared on and won $25,000 on the Charlie Daniels' Talent Roundup which was then shown nationwide on The Nashville Network (TNN).Rob then moved to Nashville. While attending Belmont University in Nashville,TN (from which he has his degree in marketing), Rob was hired from 10,000 people to be a performer in "Country Music USA" , a live show at Opryland Theme Park. Not only that, Rob also recently was a regional finalist for The USA Network's Hit TV show "Nashville Star". Out of the 15,000 artists that auditioned for the show, Rob was selected as 1 of the top 75 performers in the nation! He also was asked by K99.1 FM in Dayton, OH to be the 2004 Opening Act for "A Day in The Country", a free one day concert in which Rob opened for Joe Diffie and Mark Chesnutt and played in front of more than 50,000 people. He also had the honor and pleasure, at the request of country star David Frizzell, to sing at the dedication of the First Annual Lefty Frizzell Memorial Festival held in David’s brother Lefty Frizzell’s hometown of Corsicana, TX.In 2005, The Rob Gray Band followed up on these accompishments by winning K99.1's Battle of The Bands and again opened "A Day in The Country" opening up for Aaron Tippin, Buddy Jewell, and Jimmy Wayne.
