RACHEL LOY
Hard to pin down, and hard to forget, Rachel Loy has always had it both ways: she's a sweet, petite blonde who sings heartrending ballads with an aching vulnerability, and she drives her electric bass like it's a pack of pit bulls. She works incredibly hard, but she makes it look easy. She rode the fleeting fame train with a major label and had a Billboard-charted hit single at the ripe old age of 19. Rachel made her performance debut in Austin at age 13 forstanding-room-only crowds at the renowned club Babes On Sixth. Since then she has garnered national attention with her song "The Same Man," performed on the Today Show and CNN, released two full-length CDs and and EP, and has done numerous tours around the US.
LARISSA BOVETTI
What makes Larissa Bovetti different? It is her stylistic blend of folk and country, but even more than that, "her music is uplifting and often expresses vulnerability that... is a hallmark of fine work," says fellow musician, Paul Cuneo. Real life experiences are what this California native writes her music about. With a father who worked in the Foreign Service, Larissa was introduced to many different cultures and a love for music. And with her family listening to musical legends like Emmy Lou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Joan Baez and Dolly Parton, there were no limitations on what she could do with music. At the age of 12, Larissa started writing and playing music, learning to play the piano and guitar. After graduation with a fellowship in Music Composition from UC-Santa Barbara and showcasing in L. A. and San Francisco, Larissa decided it was time to try her hand at Nashville's music scene. Meeting fellow songwriters, honing her craft, and playing throughout the music city, including the legendary Bluebird Cafe, has been a wonderful experience for Bovetti.
STEPHANIE CORBIN
Stephanie Corbin was born and raised in Villa Hills, KY, a city just 10 miles south of Cincinnati, OH. She moved to Nashville in 2000 to pursue her career in country music. Her unique sound has earned her well-deserved attention on Music Row, as she opened for high profile musicians such as Montgomery Gentry. Her strong performances have voted her, amongst a group of talented peers, as one of Nashville’s best unsigned singer/songwriters. As contemporary country music shies away from steel guitars and twin fiddles, Stephanie Corbin reminds us of what country music is about with a twang that captures your heart, a hint of bluegrass that fills your soul, and a lot of rowdiness that packs a punch.
