Lianna

About Me

A native of North Carolina, Lianna hocked some jewelry to buy her first guitar at age 22 and started playing open-mic nights while attending law school Her tunes are served straight up with optimism and toe tapping melodies. In 1998, Lianna polished a dozen songs for her debut CD, Walk in My Shoes; featuring appearances by Hootie and the Blowfish band members. Walk sold well based on solid word-of-mouth and rigorous touring. Having brushes with industry execs and no bites caused Lianna to retreat into the corporate world and sideline music for a while. In 2002, felt a calling to the nation's capital to pursue music. Lianna packed up the car, kissed her then-boyfriend, now-husband goodbye and drove north to Washington, DC in a bid to bring music front and center in her life. Two years later, Lianna was not just the solo artist's name but a four-person band with a sophmore CD, "From Here" which received great reviews in Music Monthly and the Washington Times. She's performed at venues all over DC, Maryland, NC, SC, GA, TN and Virginia. She's jammed at the foot of the Jefferson Memorial at Washington's Cherry Blossom Festival, which draws millions of visitors from around the world every year, and in DC area hotspots like Jammin' Java, IOTA Club and Cafe, Nissan Pavilion, Celebrate Fairfax, Taste of DC and more.Lianna is now living in Nashville, TN and can also be found gigging solo at venues like the Bluebird Cafe or picnicking with her husband baby girl. Through all the twists and turns of her musical career Lianna has never forgotten the thrill of connecting with an audience using just her voice and her guitar. "Maybe someone in the audience will say, 'that was just the song I needed to hear tonight and that's better than selling 100 CDs." For Lianna, there's no finer reward than bringing hope to the stage.
