About Me

I'm a DJ/remixer/producer based in South London, part of the ever-growing Fidgit/Hear Nu Evil crew, I can be found every other weekend or so down in Brixton, for the Fidgit night at Plan B, alongside fellow residents J Bold, B Money, the Dixon Brothers and the rest of the Fidgit family, often supporting local and international hip hop heavys such as A-Skillz, DJ Yoda, Mr Thing, Cash Money, Harry Love, the Nextmen, Part Time Heroes and Andy Smith, as well as the Faithless and Beastie Boys Brixton Academy afterparties. Also look out for the 'Hear the Evil EP' out on Fidgit/Hear Nu Evil including one of my remixes/mashups, 'Dangerous in the 80s', and if you ain't got a copy of 'Fidgit Remixes vol.1', ch-ch-check it out for some crazy remix madness from my Fidgit bros J Bold and B Money.

When I'm not at Fidgit I'm usually down at the Escape Bar in Herne Hill, where I have my own fortnightly party. Past events down there have included an all-out 4 deck turntable jam with B-Boy champ DJ Lobito, a killer set from Bradford's Andy Dextrous (Original Heroes/The Goodness), the Farm Fresh Soundsystem firing on all cylinders as Tim Smith took us on a trip thru his record box, an earthshakingly deep roots reggae set from London selectress M, floor-smashing party hip hop from J-Bold aka Jim Sharp and rare heavy funk selections from Pierre le Monkey... and there's more to come. Future guests to hopefully include DJ Readybreak (the DJ side of Sonny J), Rob O'Hara (breaksmith behind 'Root 4' - check it out y'all), a visit from dave Blackgrove and the Sambalanco crew and a Fidigit special is also in the works, with guests J Bold and Ch!co.... also look out for returning guests M, the Goodness and Farm Fresh.... once was just not enough!! I also have regular dates at Sequoia @ Ruby Lo and can be found spinning at various other venues across the capital. Check back here for all the dates!Look out for new dates and new venues... up and coming new nights include my monthly student-friendly golden-era hip hop romp at the Funky Munky in Camberwell on the last Thursday of every month starting in January 2008, and my own little night at Plan B is also in the pipeline....STAY TUNED.......
a big thanks to everyone for all the support and love, its been wicked so far!
Shout outs to J Bold, B Money, DJ Phil 'Lobito', Mr K and the Likwid family (miss you guys), Al+The Pistachios, MC Wildeye, Buttafingaz and the Buttercuts crew, DJ Bantaar and MC Icey, Andy Dextrous, Mucka Steez, Matt Homer and the whole Goodness crew, Tim Smith/Farm Fresh (let's go fishing!!), Maya, Pete 'le Monkey', Adam A-Skillz for emailing all the dope remixes, Readybreak, Rob O'Hara, Ch!co, the Dixon Bros, Mystery+Throwdown, my bro Krunchie Kuts (innit), Mr Yeti, my big sis Robyn and Bruce (still the white Snoop Doggy Dogg!!), my wonderful girlfriend Helen and of course Mum and Dad, your support over the years has been priceless.
For information and/or bookings either message me through myspace or email me at [email protected]. Mixes are available to download (hi-res) in my blog section...

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: There's only one of us!
Influences: DJ Shadow (this man has taught me so much about music - you wouldn't be reading this if I hadn't bought 'Endtroducing....' all those years ago), Cut Chemist, DJ Nu Mark, Jazzy Jay, Coldcut, Kenny Dope, Nubian Crackers, DJ Eclipse, Pepe Deluxe, Steinski, Grandmaster Flash, Jazzy Jay, RJD2, DJ Babu, Z-Trip, Dynamo Productions, Cypress , Showbiz & AG, Lordz of the Underground, The Beatnuts, Artifacts, The Nextmen, Jurassic 5, De La Soul, Afrika Bambaataa, Danny Breaks, DJ Premier + Gang Starr (for making so many great, great hip hop tracks), Biggie, ATCQ, Black Sheep, Da Bush Babees, (Native Tongues all the way...), QDIII, Ugly Duckling, the Pharcyde, MC Lyte, DITC, Nas, J Rocc, One Cut/Masterchef, Andy Smith, Keb Darge, Boca45, Beta Band, Spanky Wilson, the Mohawks, the Meters, Average White Band, James Brown, Breakestra, Dap Kings, King Tubby, Reprazent.... too many to keep on going really...

Sounds Like: Well... I'm a DJ! Check my short mixes in the player (sorry bout the sound quality - gotta turn the bitrate down to get them up there). Working on some break-heavy cut n paste productions though, will post anything that's worth checking out if I manage it! As far as the DJ side goes, I like to keep as open minded as possible, obviously there's loads of hip hop, funk, soul, rare groove, breaks, reggae etc but I will play whatever speaks to me as dancefloor dynamite. Its our job to throw a party and thats the most important thing. I guess Coldcut's DJ style has been a great influence, the Nextmen, and of course the legendary Brainfreeze and Product Placement mixes from DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist are something to forever aspire to!
