Nimbus The General

About Me

Nimbus The General grew up in the hard streets of the concrete jungle in Steel City. A product of his environment, he started writing poetry at the age of 15. Early on people saw that he had a gift for writing. Music has always been a big influence in his life, not by his decisions, but as a way to escape and relate to the issues in his life. Writing and listening to music was an easy way to get his emotions out, to express what he was feeling without outwardy explaining it to anyone. At the age of 17 he tried spoken word. He was not used to writing to an instrumental, however with spoken word poetry it made it easier to catch a "flow" with his words and give the people something more interactive and capturing to listen to.
By the age of 19 Nimbus started writing actual songs and freestyling to prepare his mind for competitions. That same year, 1999, he was arrested and charged with felony gun charges. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, where he perfected his craft in battles and meeting the right people to make him more creative. Before then he didn't have a name. This is where Nimbus The General was born (thanks, Ronald Anderson). He went on to parole in 2004 undefeated in ALL rap battles whether on the yard or in the gym, on the unit or in the chow hall. With about 2 albums worth of songs he was finally ready to start making his life ambition become a reality. He lived in St. Louis for a couple of years, where he met Dubz and the E2TS crew. After meeting his wife and having his first son, he moved to Pennsylvania, where he currently resides. Still undefeated in ALL rap battles, he is currently booking shows in local areas and trying to record his first album, the title known only to a specific few people. To Nu-Nu for being my rappie, in more ways than one. We did a bit together as cellies and STILL beasted on every new kat that claimed they was runnin' the joint. To JB for singing "Booty In My Face".
