Hey, I’m Cedric Hanriot, I play acoustic piano, Fender Rhodes, analogic keyboards (Korg MS20, MiniMoog), Hammond B3 Organ, accordion and melodica, I also design sounds and do sound/rythm programming. I am also a composer, arranger, and educator. I initially pursued an undergraduate degree in Engineering Science, then a Masters in Electronics and Engineering. My extreme passion for music then took over, and I decided to devote my life to it.
MUSICAL STUDIES:
I began playing the piano quite late, at 21 years of age.
I studied jazz harmony and piano with pianist Bernard MAURY for a couple of months. I then attained a Musical Studies Degree (a French DEM) in Jazz Performance, Arranging for large ensembles with Jean GOBINET, Orchestral Studies and Jazz History from the Music Conservatory of Metz (F), from which I also received a Piano Gold Medal.
Other notable musical achievements include:
Studied Arranging Techniques for large Jazz Ensembles with Pierre BERTRAND, worked on Classical Writing Techniques for string quartets with Jocelyn SGUARD.
In 2007 I started my studies at the Berklee College of Music, in Boston, Ma (USA). I am studying Piano, Composition, Arrangement and Music Technology with among others Danilo PEREZ, Joe LOVANO, Terri Lyne CARRINGTON, George GARZONE, and Hal CROOK. I also work with Pianist, Jean Michel PILC in New York City.
MUSICAL EXPERIENCE:
I first played and toured with a funk-acid jazz band called Notorious. We played about 400 concerts throughout Europe. We recorded an album called “Funky Way of Life†(Notorious/Scalen) in 1998. After this great and intense experience, I played and recorded with many projects as a leader and as a sideman/accompagnist, in various musical styles such as jazz, salsa, funk/groove, pop, electro, blues.
I play acoustic piano, Fender Rhodes, analogic keyboards (Korg MS20, MiniMoog), Hammond B3 Organ, accordion and melodica, I also design sounds and do sound/rythm programming.
I had the pleasure to play and work with great talented musicians such as drummer Terri Lyne CARRINGTON, saxophonist Joe LOVANO, guitar player Mick GOODRICK, drummer Franck AGULHON, singer Dean BOWMAN, drummer Matthieu CHAZARENC, bass player Benoit VANDERSTRAETEN, sax players Melissa ALDANA, Alex TERRIER and Alex HAN, actors Vincent ELBAZ and Jean Pierre CASSEL, percussionist Jim LOPEZ, singer Coco ZHAO, and many others.
AS AN EDUCATOR:
For many years I have been teaching and sharing my musical experiences at the Music Academy International, and Jazz Academy International Schools in Nancy (F) and also have given some masterclasses/workshops in Europe and Asia.
