I am from Kiriat Ono, Israel. 21 years old and right now I am a student at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, about to graduate. I started playing the trumpet at the age of 8 at the local conservatory near my house. At the age of 11 I was playing in the youth and elder classical orchestras and toured to Europe several times, performing solos with the orchestras. I graduated the Thelma Yellin High School for the Arts three years ago, where I started my Jazz education. There I got experienced in the Big Band, Salsa band and other jazz bands. I am currently studying at Berklee where I am learning from amazing teachers such as Tiger Okoshi, Oscar Stagnaro, Joe Lovano, Hal Crook, Greg Hopkins and Phil Wilson. I am a member of the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra, Rainbow Big Band, Rainbow All Stars, Tower of Power Ensemble. And I am currently Writing, producing and performing with great musicians and friends. I have performed in the Monterey CA Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz Festival twice, at the International association for Jazz Education for the past 6 years, Coca Cola music festival 2004 in Nitsanim (w/Tipeks, Hadorbanim and Maya Buskila) and in 2007 w/ Shai Gabso, Jerusalem Jazz Festival, Red Sea Jazz Festival, Cesaria Auditorium (w/Pavlo Rosenberg & Shlomi Shabat) and more.
I would like to thank a few people for helping, mentoring and teaching me over the years: The late Arnie Lawrence, Rony Iwryn, Oscar Stagnaro, Tiger Okoshi, my parents and family.
My current/past Projects include: Tour with Oscar Stagnaro's "Peru Mestizo" latin Jazz, Recording with Israeli artists Keren Peles, Pavlo Rosenberg, Shlomi Shabat, Dani Robas and the Avi Lebovitch Orchestra. Performing with the Idan Raichel Project, Matisyahu, Rosa Pasos, Maria Schneider, Israel "Cachao" Lopez, Max Weinberg, Tony Perez, Jimmy Heath, Juan Luis Guerra, Kimbombo Salsa Band, Pavlo Rosenberg, Shlomi Shabat, David Broza and performing at the IAJE with Tiger Okoshi.
In March I attended a 4 day workshop with Paquito D'rivera which ended with a concert at Carnegie Hall. I've received the "Berklee College of Music Art Farmer Award". In August I played at the Red Sea Jazz Festival and I am currently recording my first album. I am also in a latin jazz group - "La Timbistica", which won the 2008 Down Beat student music award for best Jazz band and performed at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival April '08.
