Marga Lane is a multi-faceted entertainer. As a singer/songwriter at 19, she is just at the start of her musical career. Her musicality is diverse. She started her studies as a pianist at the age of 7. Although sometimes resisting her mother's constant nagging to practice, she went on to perform at her fourth grade graduation ceremony and many recitals thereafter. She also pursued studies in voice, flute, guitar, drums, acting and dance. The natural progression from being a musician to incorporating dance and acting started at a young age as well. Marga Lane has taken hip hop, tap, and jazz, training, performing, and most recently teaching hip hop. Her love of entertaining at a young age progressed on and off the stage, from trying to recruit her friends to becoming the next Spice Girls, to performing in high school plays and summer theater, including NYU Tisch's CAP 21 Musical Theater Program. Her rendition of the national anthem is one of the most unique you will hear. Being asked to perform it at endless high school sports and community related events, has brought much enthusiasm to crowds of over a thousand. Her most recent performance of her original material with her band was at Kenny’s Castaways in New York City. She has also played acoustic shows at many places, such as the Famed CBGB’s and coffee houses around her hometown.
Marga Lane is now finishing her fourth semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She is double majoring in vocal performance and music business. She continues to hone her skills as a musician, vocalist, and songwriter with the help of talented Berklee Faculty and collaborations with fellow students.
Her diverse vocal flavors and strong distinct voice are evident in her songs. Being of a mixed ethnicity, as a child she would sing and dance to Salsa and Spanish beats, as well as to Elvis, The Beatles and Michael Jackson. These influences have enhanced her ability to incorporate different musical genres into her songwriting.
Marga Lane is self motivated, extremely driven and is someone who will captivate you with her first note. She grows as musician with each new song she writes and each time she performs. "Music is around me and within me at all times. I think, eat and breathe lyrics. I sleep and walk to a beat, any beat, and every beat. I would like to take everyone into my world and onto my stage.
