Steve has been residing in Bielefeld, Germany since the mid-50`s, his Mother's home town. He's been in the active music business since 1961. His first stage experience was with the band The Beat Berrys.
His first international standing was achieved in 1971 during the "Deutsch Rock" era under a German pseudonym with the band Creative Rock, a band well known far beyond Germany's borders.
Creative Rock released 2 LP's (Gorilla and Lady Pig) under the Brainlabel of Metronome Records Hamburg (1972 - 1974). Unanimous quotes after the first LP release in the locations Melody Maker, Sounds and Musik Express: "The blackest voice in Germany", giving him the nickname "The Voice".
Creative Rock was considered the German version of bands like Blood, Sweat & Tears and Chicago.
After 10 years, Creative Rock was renamed Flight. This formation consisted of international musicians.
In 1984, Steve Haggerty started his first solo project. Ariola released the maxi-single Barbados / Woman. Several TV performances followed and received positive resonance.
In 1987 Steve was casted as Frontman for the band Affaire Vincetti, a band surrounded by mysterious rumours. So it came to pass that Steve Haggerty became The Cowboy Haggerty, appearing on stage in dustcoat and cowboy hat from then on.
In 1989 he accompanied the band Trans Am as Frontman. Trans Am, a successful coverband, broke up in 1999 due to irreconcilable differences.
The first songs performed in the German language followed in 2001, receiving positive reviews as being very impressive.
At the end of 2001, Haggerty got together with Matthias Kemper and founded the duo Voice & Piano. Voice & Piano describe their musical direction as being "Ballads and More". Occasional performances can be seen in well-known clubs.
Since the beginning of 2003, Steve has been working together with renowned, international musicians on a new project: "Steve Haggerty & The Wanted". On October 24th 2003, an unannounced test concert was held in B3 in Borgholzhausen... with breakthrough success! Since then, the band has developed into a permanent factor in the German Country and Southern Rock scene. Their first CD "Bullet & a Game", which was presented at the Country Music Convention in Berlin in 2006, received excellent reviews from the public and music experts alike. Numerous performances in Clubs, at Country and Biker Festivals and of course the impressive performance at the Berlin Country Convention say it all.
Steve also performs at various events in a "Haggerty Trio" together with Marten and Jo, two band members from The Wanted. In their program: The highlights from the Rock and Pop Charts of the last 40 years...

Einstimmige Zitate nach der ersten LP-Veroeffentlichung im Melody Maker, Sounds und Musik Express: Die schwaerzeste Stimme Deutschlands, was ihm den Beinamen The Voice gab.
Creative Rock wurde als deutsche Antwort auf Blood, Sweat & Tears und Chicago gehandelt.
Nach 10 Jahren wurde Creative Rock in Flight umbenannt. Diese Formation bestand aus internationaler Besetzung.

2001 folgten die ersten Songs in deutscher Sprache, die in der Kritik als sehr beeindruckend bewertet wurden.
Ende 2001 fanden sich Haggerty und Matthias Kaemper zusammen und gruendeten das Duo Voice & Piano. Die musikalische Richtung beschreiben Voice & Piano als Ballads and more. Auftritte finden sporadisch in bekannten Clubs statt.
Seit Mitte 2003 arbeitet Steve mit renomierten, internationalen Musikern an einem neuen Projekt: "Steve Haggerty & the Wanted" Am 24.10. gab es ein unangekuendigtes Testkonzert im B3 in Borgholzhausen... ...mit durchschlagendem Erfolg! Seit dem hat sich die Band zu einem nicht mehr wegzudenkenden Faktor der deutschen Country und Southern Rock Szene entwickelt. Die erste CD, Bullet And A Game, vorgestellt auf der Country Music Messe 2006 in Berlin, bekam von Publikum und Fachleuten durchweg begeisterte Kritiken. Zahlreiche Auftritte in Clubs, bei Country und Bikerfestivals und nicht zuletzt der vielbeachtete Auftritt auf der Berliner Country Messe sprechen eine deutliche Sprache.
Als Haggerty Trio tritt Steve auch bei verschiedenen Events zusammen mit Marten und Jo von den Wanted auf. Im Programm: Die Highlights der Rock und Pop Charts der vergangenen 40 Jahre...
