Silje Helle is mainly a singer/songwriter, but is also writing instrumental/filmmusic. She comes from a small place in the north-west of Norway called Vatne. When she was a little girl, there were sparetime activities, such as marching band and football (soccer), and she did both. But it was the music that was her true desire. Her mother won in the lottery, and bought a piano. That would turn out to be a new direction in Silje´s life. After some years with classical piano lessons, she went into a short improvisation which soon turned into a song. At the age of 14, this was the startingpoint of her songwriting. Some years later, her brother met a man who was convinsed that the end of the world was soon to come. He gave away all his belongings, including a pink guitar with black spots. Her brother got hold of it, and Silje started to learn chords and started to sing along. Some years after musical education in highschool, she moved to Oslo and took two years at a private music institute, with compositions and music production as main subjects. She attended a local talentcompetition, arranged by the local TV & Radio station. She made it to the final, and ended up third place. Now she is back in Oslo after studying her third year of popular music in Walsall. And after all these years making songs, she is still hunting for the perfect hit.
