Now's the time to have faith in what we can do

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Formerly members of Now Is the Winter, the Winter comprise singer Paul Lowe and guitarist Chris Robbie. The name change came about when Gary Knowles moved away in February 2005, leaving Paul and Chris to carry on alone. It was clear during their first gig that with the change in name came a change in musical direction. Instead of the Depeche Mode-esque synth-pop we were used to with NITW, The Winter surprised many by producing a rockier, more raw sound. The gig was a mixture of original songs, covers and some re-worked versions of old NITW songs. The band combined blues, punk and indie, producing a sound reminiscent of The White Stripes and Nirvana. Overall they were received very well and are planning further gigs later in the year. An album is planned for this autumn but in the meantime recordings of their January gig and demos are available on request.
