In early 2005, former Despondency bandmates Kristian Hale (drums) and Jeremy Whitman (vocals) began working on material for a progressive metal band under the moniker The Lyra Project. As additional members were obtained, the general direction of the group became more heavy, as they expanded on the "anything goes" attitude by incorperating brutal death metal and melodic sensibilities. By May of that year, Carl Stevens (guitar) had joined the group and Into Another Sun began.
Song material was churning out at a rapid pace as the early vigors culminated into a mid-card slot at the 2005 Harroween Concert at the famous Grant St. Dancehall, Lafayette, LA with Ross Brown to fill the second guitar slot. The early material included "Not For Hallucination" and "Wicked Among Us" as well as other staples, and this performance prepared the group for a string of live appearances throughout the next two years, including a noteworthy gig with Goatwhore featuring Jeremy Lege on bass.
By November 2006, the line-up was complete with James Leonard from Wicked Decay on bass and another Despondency alumni James Suire on guitar. Recording for the debut album "Onset Of The Coming Storm" was underway and completed in January 2007. The E.P. is set for release by Spring 2007, and the band will continue to progress by creating thier own mark in metal, and will forever push the limits of brutal music.Listen to Metal.0 ..
