What makes DUMMO different?
Five guys got together to lay out their musical frustrations and the result is epic. The ability to write in-depth lyrics with guitar, bass and drum solos that will grab you by the ass and not let go is a skill that this band has mastered! DUMMO artfully blends crushing guitar tones with sweet vocal melodies, dramatic keyboard and piano orchestrations, greasy bass lines and pounding drums. They also possess an explosive stage presence that matches their eccentric personalities and captivating music. Quick to try something new, DUMMO will always bring you to near death and back.

How did DUMMO happen?
Jesus lost a bet with Satan claiming that "Good music doesn't exist."
Who has influenced DUMMO?
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Tool, Beethoven, Bach, Alice in Chains, Cream, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Aesop Rock, Buckethead, Indorphine, Les Claypool, Billy Sheehan, Maynard Keenan, Faith No More, Dream Theater, Bruce Springsteen, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad and Opeth.
Why should anyone see DUMMO live?
No audience is safe from the mysterious pull of the DUMMO sound. People walking by venues where DUMMO is playing always stop to watch, whether they have heard of the band or not. Now those people are some of DUMMO’s biggest fans! To date, the band has played over three million shows at venues such as Freebird Live in Jacksonville, Bourbon St. in New Port Richie, Gasoline Alley in Clearwater, Eddie C's in Gainesville, Floyd's in Tallahassee, and Hard Rock Live, in Orlando.

The Buzz
“DUMMO – an original Florida prog rock band with classic rock riffage and progressive song structures, quick to jump from a brutal onslaught straight into the mellow sounds of a string ensemble.“
-Austin Chronicle

“Progressive metal is making a strong come back and one of the bands at the forefront of this revolution is DUMMO. They are an all original prog rock band out of Jacksonville, FL. Each song tells a unique story while all the songs combine and infuse to tell a larger story. They are not a band to be taken at face value. You must look deeper to fully understand and appreciate the stories they tell.”
-AcidVictim Records

“As the band DUMMO played at the Marion Street Cafe last night, the smaller-than-some venue was not nearly large enough to hold the spirit and sound of a relentless live performance by a larger-than life group of very talented musicians. The 'in your face' performance [They played not ON the stage, but IN the crowd] only further electrified the crowd as the heavy metal guitar riffs mixed with a surprisingly elegant 'string ensemble' sound spilled from the building into the streets, where fans, and passers-by as well, had gathered to experience one of the most well-performed shows I've ever seen. The voice that resonated from Brian 'Pipes' Collins delivered a soulful sound unparalleled in indie music today. Bassist Josh King’s and guitarist Matt Conlee's sounds mixed extremely well with Justin Shaw's crunching sound, and the trio rocked the house with their fan-friendly approach. Drummer Marc Zappia delivered an absolutely powerful performance, electrifying fans with a superb drum solo displaying his awesome skills. In a world of 'Hollywood' created 'superstars’ shining brightly in the media but never really reaching our souls, these guys are definitely a breath of fresh air. Professional sound, professional show, and very approachable, Dummo is without a doubt has the hottest indie show going. We'll be listening, guys.”

“Dummo's concept album, "Seasons in a Dry Age", is an eclectic journey through alternate dimensions, emotional conflict, destruction, love, remorse, and the walking dead.”
-CDBaby.com

”This album is, in short, gold spun from straw. Written in blood and sweat, the boys of Dummo have upped the ante for any progressive rock band looking to break into the scene. Each song is a gem as a stand-alone but if you want to experience the full ingenuity, you have to absorb the album as a whole integrated story. Each time you hear it, you pick up something new, some new piece of the puzzle shining a light into your musical soundscape. Musicians everywhere take note: You can't just write a song anymore. You must create an artistic civilization of divinity and grind. Dummo has and will continue to provide higher and higher standards for music making for many years to come.”
