I am working with David Fresina, a Boston filmmaker who aims to make a documentary commemorating the 30th anniversary of the September 25, 1978, PSA plane crash in San Diego that killed 144 people. He found me because I took this picture on that horrible day:
I am David Matt Green , a professional writer, editor, photographer, videographer, publicist and webmaster who is lucky enough to live in the southwest corner of sunny Southern California, in beautiful San Diego.
ShyCloud.com is the name of my actual web site. I also have a gallery of my photos at ShyCloud.com/DMGsGallery , and you can see a bunch of them in the slide show above.
Way back in the previous millennium, I was a very bashful young Cub Scout in a pack that held a Native American Day. Our Den Mothers created Indian names for each of us, and mine dubbed me: Shy Cloud , Chief of the Arapahos.
I earned a Journalism degree from San Diego State University in 1972, then spent the rest of the '70s working for newspapers as a reporter, photographer, copy editor and design editor. In the '80s I taught high school Journalism for four years. I also was a yearbook adviser for two years, and one of those books was voted "Best In The County"!
I have been online since 1989. From 1991-96 I operated a computer bulletin board system known as Pro-Harold.cts.com , where many of my friends got their very first Internet e-mail addresses!
By mid-1996, though, I had seen the .com future, so on December 29th of that year I turned my BBS into a web site called ShyCloud.com , which began offering "Moral Support For Creative Sorts."
As a photographer with 35 years of professional experience, I specialize in capturing action and candid pictures. I've shot more than 550 singers and bands during shows at coffee houses and bars. I also have photographed actual performances or dress rehearsals of about 40 plays for over a dozen different San Diego theater companies!
The majority of my friends here on MySpace are musicians and actors who I already have taken pictures of in the past. I also have added some of my long-time favorite performers who I haven't actually met yet, because I still hope to shoot photos of them too some day!

Thanks for visiting me on MySpace! Please come back again soon!
David :
P.S./1 -- The two pictures of me higher in this column were shot by my longtime best friend Marisa Cullen . My current default profile photo was shot at the April San Diego Photography Meetup by a wonderful photographer named Bidone Bouriyaphon.
P.S./2 -- Because I spend so much time shooting music photos, people are always asking me if I play an instrument. No, I don't, but when I was in 7th and 8th grade I was taking guitar lessons and was on my way to following in the footsteps of one of my idols back then, the late, great Ricky Nelson . Here I am with a flat-top haircut like Ricky had around that time. I loved sports more than music, though, and in high school I ventured off in that direction, which eventually led me to sportswriting, journalism and photography.
P.S./3 -- "Becoming" by Lindsey Yung is the official song of my profile, because Lindsey's words parallel a lot of my own ideas about life. To watch a video I shot of Lindsey singing the song at Lestat's, after first dedicating it to me, click here .
P.S./4 -- By the way, in case you're wondering, I'm still not a life-of-the-party guy, but I'm no longer quite as shy as I once was.
P.S./5 -- On November 10, 2007, some of my music photos were featured in "A Day and Night Of Art And Poetry" at Lestat's:
P.S./6 -- I was one of six San Diego music photographers featured in a photo show on May 13, 2006, called "Anything For The Shot!" The 9-hour event also included 18 musical performers.
