Chica Sol Films

Chica Sol Films seeks to create quality films in which Latinos are working behind the camera as writers, directors and producers. Currently we are in development with our first feature film--OUTSIDE THE WALL-- which is written and will be directed by Elisha Miranda. We have also produced three award-winning short films-- CORPORATE DAWGZ, BLIND DATE, and BAD BEHAVIOR (in association with Swandive Films).OUTSIDE THE WALL is the story of Isa Santiago, a flirtatious and gifted graffiti artist who must either quit school or turn to her abusive girlfriend in order to take care of her sick mother. Isa always dreamed of being an artist, but when she discovers that Frida Kahlo was Latina and queer like her - she realizes that she must overcome her fears in order to accomplish her dreams. This film makes visible a reality in the U.S. yet rare in its cinema - that of a queer Latina grappling with poverty and confronting violence at the hands of her same-sexed partner.Layout made by Kristinaa at CreateBlog.com .
