Their meeting took place at a private school where Tara was a teacher of Lorrie's hearing impaired son five years ago. At that time, they never knew just how close their friendship would one day be.Tara has always been extremely interested in the paranormal as well as studying the minds of criminals. A fellow teacher paid frequent visit to the Myrtles Plantation and would bring back photos and give her many accounts of strange occurances. This piqued Tara's interests. She wanted to know more!Lorrie has had a few paranormal experiences. She and her Mom always had that sense of "knowing". When she was a young girl she experienced OBE or "out of body experiences" although she never knew what they were until adulthood. She has experienced a "type" of amnesia following a major motor vehicular accident that left her in shock due to her son's near death leaving her to have to face placing him on a LifeSaver helicopter, at age 6, with brain injuries, believing that she would never see him alive again. She has had two NDE or "near death experiences" and does not need anymore (thank you, very much!) and has a seizure disorder which CAN have its own place in the paranormal world.Tara and Lorrie began their quest as a "fun weekend" for the girls in 2004 at The Myrtles Plantation. That weekend is detailed in the blog (Court TV interview). But, it was a time that changed their whole perspective about "ghost hunting" and made them want to look further and dig deeper into the paranormal. They decided to form their own group in the fall of 2005 and begin tour groups to haunted locations along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Strangely enough, their paperwork was processed on August 29, 2005... THE DAY THAT HURRICANE KATRINA SLAMMED INTO THE COASTLINE OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST! Tara had much more damage to her home than Lorrie. Lorrie's in-laws lost EVERYTHING living in Waveland, Mississippi where Katrina's eye fell. Times looked very dark. Plans were shelved for a long time. It was time to clean up and pick up the pieces.But, they didn't give up! They came back and found another way. It is always possible. They began hosting overnight trips in haunted locations paying special attention to detail. They still host overnight trips that are ALL INCLUSIVE for those who like to investigate as well as combining other types of fun and exciting agendas as well.Lorrie and Tara have been on many investigations and sites such as Concord, California, St. Augustine/Cassadaga/Deland, Florida, Savannah, Georgia, Biloxi/Ocean Springs/Moss Point/Long Beach/Waveland/Gulfport, Mississippi, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and New Orleans, Louisiana just to name a few.Tara and Lorrie are trained and certified by well known parapsychologist, Professor Loyd Auerbach and through HCH Institute at Lafayette, California. Their affiliations include but are not limitated to: Office of Paranormal Investigations, Paranormal Research Organization, Members of the Rhine Research Institute and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.Tara resides in Gulfport, Mississippi with her husband, Scott, and two beautiful daughters, Morgan, 12, and Gillian, 6. She works for a casino in the area as well as being a "Ghost Chick" and, of course, above all, a wonderful Mom and wife! She has a BS in Psychology and has,previously, taught children with learning disabilities. She has the ability to reach out to all ages of children and "connect" with them (especially) those who are "in crisis". She has a gift that not everyone of us was given.Lorrie lives in Ocean Springs, Mississippi with her husband, Dan, and her two handsome sons, Zach, 14, and Jordan, 11. Her husband is a Pilot with the HURRICANE HUNTERS at Keesler Air Force Base. Prior to marriage, Lorrie was an Office Manager and Surgical Assistant in Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery for eight years. She is a "stay at home" Mom to two handsome young boys, Zach, 14, whom is hearing and language impaired, and Jordan, 11. She has volunteered with all types of special needs and learning disabled children over her son's lifetime to help with speech and language problems.Tara and Lorrie are both "sensitives/empaths".
