ATTENTION:THE PASSING OF A SALEM, MA. ICON!
I still can't believe it! I'm so sorry to hear the news that a close friend of mine and Warlock (in fact the King of the Witches of Salem) Shawn Poirier passed away early Sunday Morning March 18Th!
Though I've never officialy met him in person, I feel like not only I have, but it's like I've known him and Christian forever! Kindread Spirits and "Brothers" in The Craft often feel this way. With his Rakish goodlooks, Shawn reminded me so much of a "Witchier" Harry Blackstone Jr. (lol)
I'm NOT going to say "Rest in Peace" to Shawn like many others have since I believe not only that he's still around and now free of his Mortal Coil but being The Warlock that he was we won't hear the last of him!
Those of you who were lucky enough to be closest to him will be "hearing" from him I'm sure! If Anyone can reachout through the Veil and contact anyone here...he can!! Also, what he's done for Salem will NOT be forgotten. Nothing is Never Truely forgotten!
It is as important to The Witches of Salem (Shawn's and Christian's Coven), as it was to Mr. Poirier, that what they do is NOT confused with Wicca, a Neo-Pagan Religion that claims roots to pre-Christian, Pagan Europe that was popularized in the early 1950s by a British civil servant named Gerald Gardner.
"Being a Great Witch does require selling your soul," Mr. Poirier's MySpace page says. "But to whom and for what price is the question I want you to ponder. WE ARE NOT WICCAN, AND NEVER WILL BE! WE ARE SOMETHING ELSE!"
As far as I'm concerened, Salem has lost a Modern Hero in the Occult Community! We are in dire need these days of more Witches and Warlocks like him!!

My name is Brock Alexander. I'm a "Romantic Moderate Goth", practicing Warlock/Occultist, as well as a Multi-Media Artist (Drawing, Painting [both Oil's and Acrylics], Sculpting, etc.), and an Occult and Paranormal Advisor. Later, partially due to Eastern Mystical practices, I resumed my interests (from since a child) in Metaphysics and the Occult Sciences which led me to seek teachers much like my teachers in the Martial Arts. I've been regularly exposed to the Japanese American Community growing up in Los Angeles. I first got my exposure to "Real Witches" in my High School years when I used to frequent a little Occult shop on Broadway in Long Beach, CA called 'THE EYE OF THE CAT' and some years later I went on to study there and eventualy was intiated into 'The Druidic Craft of The Wise' (or DCW) to the 2nd % by Judith DeFrain.
I later trained in Gardenerian/Alexandrian Witchcraft of which I felt was closer to "The Source" at the time and Brittish Traditional Wytchecraft (BTW) to the 3rd % by Lady Raven Adora in the early 1980's....which in turn lead to Celtic Witchcraft and Northern Italian (Aradian or Stregharia) to the 2nd % in the mid 1980's.
Adding to this I later incorporated some of my Families own Voodoo/Hoodoo Crafte (learned from my Southern raised Step-Father) and Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) or Thelema from 1989 to 1993. (I was Minervaled by Lon Milo DuQuete in 1989. He also was my Lodge Master and good friend for many years when I lived in SoCal.) Also from what I learned from my studies in Gnostic, Luciferian, Typhonian, and LaVeyian Traditions and I've been practicing the ART'S OF WYTCHECRAFT, MAGICK, AND SORCERY ever since which happens to be for well over 30 years now.
I consider myself to be an "OCCULTIST" first and foremost...NOT A WICCAN OR A NEO-PAGAN (at least by todays standards. What was "Wicca/Paganism" back in the late 1970's/early 1980's IS NOT what it has become today! Back then it was SO MUCH CLOSER TO THE OLD SCHOOLS OF WITCHCRAFT...ESPECIALY THE "BRITISH" OR "ENGLISH" BRAND OF WITCHCRAFT!)
You can call me a Heathen, a Wytche, or a Warlock (SEE "RECLAIMING THE WORD WARLOCK" BELOW) which for me is not only a return to the Old definitions of the "Old School" of Occultism, but a re-afermation to the Old Practices of Wytchecraft, Magick, and Sorcery!!
RECLAIMING THE WORD WARLOCK!
Much like the term "Wicca" which comes from the root term "Wicce" and means "to bend," or "to shape." NOT "The Wise" or "Wise Ones" that has been continuously circulated around the Metaphysical Community by many misinformed Wiccans and Neo-Pagans for years, the word Warlock has befallen the same gross misrepresentation.
Contrary to current popular belief, it does NOT mean an "Oath-Breaker" in "Scottish" as again many Neo-Pagans and Wiccan's love to tell you (which they get from the Old English and later Colonial Wytch Hunter's jargon) but in fact it is a derivative from the High German word "Ward-lokkur" (BTW...W is pronounced V in german) meaning "Spell-Caster" for Enchanter or Sorcerer, much the same as the German word "Hexen" which just means "Wytch" or the Old English "Wizard!" It is generally applied to a "Male Wytch" who practices some form of Magick usually in the Nature of Conjuration or Sorcery....thus, the reason for it's application as a definition for the Male gendered Witch in "Pop Culture" society today!
In her book ---"An ABC of Witchcraft" Doreen Valiente, the 'Mother of Modern Witchcraft' makes another observation:
"The Word 'WARLOCK' is most likely an old Scottish term for a 'Wizard' as Henry More observed..."it's simply 'Wise-ard', meaning a 'Wise Man'."

A "Black Magician" does not define him/herself as such based on the popularly predominant idea in modern society that "Black" or "Dark" means "Evil" or the practice thereof. But we have embraced your names turning them into Badges of DARK HONOUR! What you call WYTCHES, WARLOCKS, VAMPIRES, GHOULES, ETC.,.......We call VARIOUS CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT and our KINDRED from the ALTERNATATE COMMUNITIES! We live amongst you everyday, yet you do NOT truely see us! You turn away from us and even FEAR and Revile us because we Choose TO CELEBRATE OUR BEING DIFFERENT openly and live our lives as such!! We choose also not to always walk in the Sunlight, but in the SHADOWS OF DUSK AND TWILIGHT that HAUNT your Childhood Fears! Obviously, many "GOTHS" may fit the term "AUTUMN PEOPLE" but what isn't mentioned very often are the OLDER "Other" Autumn People! These are the Truely Hidden Ones or "Those Who Aren't Seen" very often by public eyes. The Ones you might find employed in the old "Carnies" and "Freak Shows" of a bygone era. Often these people aren't actualy "Freaks" in our way of thinking (Wolfboys' etc.,) only "Different" from the average joe/jill! And their way of thinking, perceptions, and way of life is different from "Normal" Society. They normally see what others would call "Dark" or "Negative" more as a Positive to be embraced in one's life an integrated into their collective consciousness. They also, (like myself) feel that they hail originally from another, older, "darker" time and their Souls have been around almost forever. They "tap" everyday into places and regions of the Human Psyche that most only get a glimpse of in their occasional "odd" or *queer* (See Note Below) Dreams!

Of course I'm NOT talking about "Mad Dog" Killer's, Psycho's, and Serial Killer's here....though they do have a kind of "Autumn" quality all their own....that sometimes like Us, obliquely skirt the edges of society. Only, they do it more for reasons for not getting "caught" and hence properly punished for their evil, unevolved actions towards others!!

I lean towards older stuff. Even with Cable and/or Satelite TV, I tend to watch more of the Channels that show lots of Old Shows and Movies! Besides educational TV, "Gay" TV...(I miss "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy"..lol), and what i call "Culture" TV (different cultures, Music, etc.,), I like Paranormal and Historic Documentaries, Old Comedies and TV Shows (like Magnum P.I., Bewitched, The Munsters, etc.), as well as the Old Classic Horror Shows and Movies.
