About Me

Originally from Honolulu, this Los Angeles based singer/songwriter and band "They Look Like Brothers" have become local favorites in LAs live music venues, including The Cinema Bar, Taix, Room 5 and Ronnie Macks Barndance at El Cid. Her music has been heard recently on 103.1's Watusi Rodeo and on a bunch of film and tv soundtracks. You can buy the CD on www.cdbaby.com or www.sarahstanley.com or www.fatoak.com.About the CD, MAVERICK MAGAZINE SAYS : *** a well produced set that straddles the boundaries between folk-rock, country and Americana. Stanley, who wrote or co-wrote nine of the ten songs, ventures into heartache ballads, painful confessionals and sad sagas, but has several songs that can still elicit a smile due to their musical excellence. Tuck Me In, This Bottle, San Antonio and the closing Last Song are the most memorable on offer here. A very cerebral disc; if you like Norah Jones, Kasey Chambers and Lucinda Williams, this disc could be for you.
