Darkling productions is an independent production company set up to produce films and content media that offers something very different to the programming which is currently parenting the children of tomorrow, whilst we sit back and say ‘ pass the remote!’
Everyone who works for Darkling is an agent of change and has a passion for the positive. It’s about constant learning and producing good work. For me, Dami Akinnusi, the founder of Darkling, the only person I seek to be better than, is myself.
Darkling has one major challenge amongst Earthlings. The challenge is simple to redress the balance and take back control of our minds. If we work together it will be achieved. To be a Darkling, justice is one of the key things that must lead you. As Malcolm X said:
"the young generation of whites, blacks, browns, whatever else there is, you’re living at a time of extremism, a time of revolution, a time when there’s got to be a change. People in power have misused it, and now there has to be a change and a better world has to be built, and the only way it’s going to be built—is with extreme methods. And I, for one, will join in with anyone—I don’t care what color you are—as long as you want to change this miserable condition that exists on this earth.â€

Our most recent work includes the Screen Nation Award nominated feature documentary ‘Malcolm’s Echo: The legacy of Malcolm X’, which as well as screening at the Audubon Ballroom on the 21st February (the day Malcolm was assassinated), also screened in 9 cities globally on his birthday (May 19th). The idea was to raise the consciousness of everyone watching it to be able to tune in and hear Malcolm’s Echo, creating a universal consciousness ripple.
