About Me

Most recentley, Cody can be heard on a CD with an acoustic duo project, Mile High Echo (myspace.com/milehighecho), produced by Westman and veteran producer Bill Buckingham. In 2006 Cody released his second recording, Lean In-EP with his five piece band, High Society. The EP, co-produced by John Webster (Tom Cochrane, Aerosmith, Gob) carries through a theme of well-crafted pop/rock songs. Each track has its own flavour, reflective of the many influences Cody has, including The Beatles, Phish, and John Mayer....................................................... ............................................................ .......................... Cody has been playing music and writing for 18 years, all of which began after the trade of a lifetime. "I wanted to play but didnt have an instrument, so I traded my Nintendo and all my games for my first guitar, and never looked back" Cody is proud to have shared the stage with Blackie and the Rodeo Kings (Stephen Fearing, Colin Linden, Tom Wilson (Junkhouse), Marcy Playground, and an opening slot for Leon Russell (Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, The Beatles).................................................... ............................................................ ...............................In 1997, while studying music at Selkirk College in Nelson, Cody met future High Society bassist Scott Archibald. On his own, Cody performed in Montreal, New York, Honduras, Newfoundland, and Vancouver, finally settling on the west coast. With one CD of acoustic rock under his belt (Just Like That - 2005), he added Jeff Scharf (vocals/guitar), Neil Cruickshank (guitar), and Glenn Kruger (drums/vocals) to form High Society..................................................... ............................................................ ........................... In the summer of 2007, Cody was happy to be invited by fellow Vancouver singer/songwriter T. Nile (myspace.com/tnile) to play music festivals, including the largest folk fest in Canada, The Edmonton Folk Music Festival. In addition to that tour, he played his original music with percussionist David Popoff on a Northern BC tour which included the folk fest in his hometown of Smithers, BC. Cody has since trademarked his production company, Cats Eye Productions, and is working with northern airline Hawk Air to bring music from Vancouver up to Northern Communities in BC, starting with a 3 day tour of theatres in April 2008 with Shaun Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason! ...
