RUNZELSTIRN & GURGELSTOCK / MLEHST
LP (BELIEF, UK) EURO 16.00
new 2006 recordings by both. Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock very special,
like a traditional japanese theatre-play, but so very wrong and
disturbing. Mlehst with excellent electro-accoustic collage sound.
Limited edition of 250 copies heavy vinyl in fullcolour split-cover.
Highly recommended!
The Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock side was remixed by me and then mixed again by R&G in Japan. Order Now thru Tochnit Aleph: http://www.tochnit-aleph.com/distribution

Nesin vs. Lap Dancer collaboration (Shit Eye Cassettes)
Lap Dancer primarily uses laptop, pedals, microphones, samplers and found sound objects to create a hypnotic and unsettling blend of electronic experimentalism, musique concrete and harsh noise. LD has released full-lengths on American (North and South), Canadian, European and Japanese labels, splits (the Rita, aodl, Mutant Ape, etc.), collaborations (Hidekazu Wakabayashi, Nesin, aodl, Zoon) and various compilation appearances. LD has reinterpreted (with permission) the works of: Bonnie "Prince" Billy, The Youngs, The Stares, AsvA, DOT., Nesin and Calla.
LAPDANCER SOUNDTRACK INFORMATION
Lapdancer has also been featured in the Vonn Fink (Razordolls) film "Suthern Cumfort" released in 2007 through Pulse Pictures. Lapdancer continues to, as Cioran would say, "circle the periphery" of music, freely moving from harsh chaotic noise passages to soothing ambient soundscapes. This is it. You are it and I am it. Let us move out from here, dance and celebrate this bizarre and wonderful happening.
Lapdancer is joined by some guests musicians for this little beauty of an album. Yoga Kitty has weird high wordless vocals, and there is also piano and guitar melodically pinning these compositions. That is not to say pinned down. Under all of this source fluff is Lapdancers acute sinewave worship, layers of field recordings, computer manipulations, and a slew of other highly polished tricks. The result is an amazingly well refined disc of deconstucted minimalism akin to William Baskiniski; Wonderfull minimal tone worship reminecient of Sachiko M; with a strangeness of composition fitting of Sudden Infant. Very good. A nice change of pace. - Machete Mob Blog (Seattle, WA, USA)
"That high pitched noise you're using has damaged my ears. did you ever listen to this on a pair of headphones!? i'll bet you didn't because no ears can take that kind of punishment. i'm actually going to reload the song to see if it's some kind of mistake. i must be a masochist. alright, here i go....yup, same thing. this is the first song for a review that i will not keep listening to as i write. so here's some comments on the mood and the sound. one, there is no mood. you've done nothing interesting here. or tell me that your intent with the mood was to annoy, because that you accomplished. i actually can't see why else you would put this on the site except to see how bad someone can trash it. as for the sound, it's terrible. one chord. that's it? that high pitched tone was the worst sound i've ever heard. tell me that you're not serious and doing this only because you like to make other people suffer." - Listener from Chicago, IL
"what is this. am I in space. What? Hello........anyone out there. Man WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT." - Listener from San Jose, CA
"A potential soundtrack haunter with great craftsmanship of atmosphere. It doesn't really have an audience, but it gets plenty of credit for just how goddamn creepy it could be if combined with an alien ship exploration scene." - Listener from Knoxsville, Tennessee
