About Me

we play rock and roll like free jazz. bent vocals, echos beading, motown beat. everytime we play a song it's different, we're feeding off each other and the room, the people, the moment.

Influences: rock and roll is about adrenaline, power and instinct. jazz is about expressing individuality, and the infinite variations of the moment. blues is music for a worried mind. pop is all about the hook. dub is about messing up the expectations of the ear.

we improvise with dancers, poets, delays and effects, turning the room into a drum, or the sirens outside into a chorus.

the doors, pink floyd, minutemen, the beats (kerouac and burroughs), muddy waters, jon spencer, sonic youth, grandmaster flash, the violent femmes, tom waits, captain beefheart, motorhead, gang of four, my bloody valentine, soundgarden, the birthday party and that singer guy who went solo, the clash, nomeansno, prince, zz top, television, richard thompson, neil young. ornette coleman, lester bangs, bon scott. velvet underground, lee perry, scientist, run dmc, the band. van halen (dave only jeez), bad brains, fishbone, george clinton, ccr, pj harvey...

and dan is right - how could i forget the genius of mike patton ? aside from 'the real thing' by faith no more (of course his greatest hit), his recorded output is awesome.

and while we're at it; trucks leaving, silent five, vanessa john, jeff stone, and so many other of my peers. the best inspiration. "Gored" - Tom Glenne 5.5
