My Interests

Music:

Band Website: jeffstone.com
Band Members: songwriter, vocals, guitars, bass - Jeff Stone. drums - Jamie Tanner. drums, bass - Jeff Kahl. keyboards - Laura Fernandez.
Influences: I'm one of those strange ones who doesn't sound like his influences. My cousin thinks I must be a Stereophonics fan, and a Stereo MCs fan. I do like the Flaming Lips, but I'd have to say my biggest influences are as follows:Dad, The Beatles (I actually know musicians who love the Beatles but are too scared to list them as a favourite because they are afraid they won't look cool. You know who you are), The Smiths, Tom Glenne, The Violent Femmes, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, Beethoven, ABBA, Nirvana (ever see those four names in a row?), Radiohead, Kat Goldman, The Cure, Desmond Decker, Half Full, Bob Marley, Joni Mitchell, The Who, Blur, Guided by Voices....Add to that everything I've ever heard, whether I liked it or not. It influenced me.Great current bands: Jerry Leger and the Situations, The Killers, The White Stripes, Metric...
Sounds Like: Your favourite band if all of the members were replaced by me and I played my songs. The sound is antislick and quirky, simultaneously serious and funny, and folk punk, in a Jonathan Richman or Violent Femmes kind of way. My cousin says I sound like the Stereo MCs, but I don't really know what they sound like. I've also been told I sound like Beck and The White Stripes join Simon and Garfunkel and they all move to Canada, but the girl who said that was trying pretty hard.
Record Label: Dachshund Records (it's my own)
