I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am 30 Something and Married. I work for a library as the Youth Services Librarian. Obviously, I enjoy reading and I enjoy working with kids and Teens. I do not have children of my own yet. I do have 2 of the four legged variety. Unfortunately we lost one of my dogs late last year. My husband lives in a house filled with females. Isn't he lucky. When not at work, I spend time reading and surfing the net. I put up this blog to share my interest of reading, especially good YA novels...
My pirate name is: Captain Grace Bonney
Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr! Get your own pirate name from piratequiz.com.

What kind of Dragon are you?
Blue Dragon

You are skittish and possesive. You have a quick and short temper, and like to hold grudges. When you have something you want and someone else wants it to, you would probobly never give it up for the world.

My Interests

I enjoy reading, listening to music, surfing the net and playing with my dogs. My favorite thing to do is going to the beach and listening to the waves crash against the shore, though I haven't gotten to do that lately. I also enjoy talking about books, music and movies with my friends.

Music:

I have like a wide variety of music. I enjoy listening to everything from classical to heavy metal. Right now I'm hooked on music from my teen years so I'm listening to Joan Jett and Duran Duran. I've also been into some early George Michael. Of course this might change at any time and I'll be hooked on something else.

Movies:

I have several all time favorite movies. First off I like watching Moonstruck. That's probably because it reminds me of members of my family. I can also watch Steel Magnolias over and over again. I like a lot of comedies. I've seen just about everything that Mel Brooks has done. My favorite one of his movies is Young Frankenstein. The movie I have seen the most and know the words to has to be Grease. I saw it when I was 10 years old and loved it. I have watched it over and over again.

Television:

I don't watch too much television. When I do I usually wind up watching stuff on the Discovery Channel or A&E. I watch a little network t.v. mostly crime shows. I like all the Law and Order shows. I like to watch the shows on Court T.V. as well. Two and Half Men is hilarious and I have to see every Monday night.

Books:

Too many to name. However, I did read Looking for Alaska by John Green and that was really good. I can see why it won the Printz Award. My favorite classic book is The Great Gatsby. When I was a teen I read everything by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I also like Anne Rice and have read just about everything by her. James Patterson is good for mysteries. I love his books with ..ective Alex Cross. If you are looking for something a bit funny and a mystery too, check out Janet Evanovich's novels. She starts with One for the Money. Her main character is a bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum. She gets into all kinds of hilarious situations as she tries to track down her FTAs. Speaking of funny. The all time favorite funny YA novels are the Georgia Nicholson Series by Louise Rennison. It is the diary of a 14 year old British Girl. I've actually laughed out loud in public to some of these books. The first one in the series is Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging. A must read. Another must read is the 1st book in a series by Ronald Cree. It's called Desert Blood 10pm/9 central. It's a really good mystery. The ending will surprise you. My latest favorite book is Marley and Me by John Grogan. It appeals to the dog lover in me.
