I was born and raised in Owasso, Oklahoma...just outside of Tulsa. I also lived for a number of years, and graduated school, in Carrollton, Missouri which is northeast of Kansas City. Thanks to my wonderful parents, I was fortunate to grow up listening to some of the greatest country music and western swing. I played in various club bands that covered the southwest region of the country, and decided to make the move to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. Shortly thereafter, I got my first road gig and have been working steadily in the music industry here for 19 years. Along with playing on the road, I also do session work in town, and have played on two major label products over the last few years. I also work as a tour manager. My primary instrument is pedal steel guitar, but I also play lap steel, dobro, guitar, harmonica, as well as sing. Right now I front my own band "Monte Godd and the Honky-Tonk Heroes". We perform in Nashville three nights a week playing some of the best traditional country music. Drop on by!
