Influences: Growing up a Texan of course the obvious influences would be Bob Wills, Ray Price, George Jones and George Strait. Four Texas legends. Then I can remember my grandpa playing greats like Jim Reeves and Eddy Arnold. My daddy had records by Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Vern Gosdin and Johnny Cash just to name a few. Then when I got old enough to buy records I would buy Keith Whitley, Randy Travis, Alabama. Then later in my military days I would listen to Clint Black, Clay Walker, John Michael Montgomery, Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence, Alan Jackson, and Diamond Rio. Now I love Billy Currington, Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner, Craig Morgan, Joe Nichols and Brad Paisley. There are others of course but there's not enough room to list them all. As you can probably tell I'm influenced by more traditional country. I never listened to rock and roll growing up and I still don't. About the only rock and roll I've ever liked was Elvis, Buddy Holly or Carl Perkins. So, those are some of the people that have shaped who I am musically.
