Myspace Comments | Myspace Graphics | Myspace Surveys I am 33 years old. I been with my wife Heather for 19 years now. Crazy she puts up with me huh? We have 3 of the greatest kids ever. Cole, Chase, and Cara. For some reason i got interesed in music at a young age. My father played in weekend bands i a was just "sucked in" so to speak. I played in high school rock bands to try to get some chicks... don't do the math.. YES, i was with my soon to be wife Heather at that point. What can i say?? Anyway, from there I played guitar for a local guy, who happens to be my brother-in-law, Murl, for several years on the road. He was pursuing a recording contract but as most singers will attest, that is a really long shot! We did manage to play alot of very cool show with great artists. I got to work with the likes of Connie Smith (holy shit), Johnny Paycheck, Dottie West, and a slew of other artists... THose were the years that i really learned about the music business. Can't believe i continued on. In 1995, Heather and I moved to Nashville. I was to go to work playing guitar for Danni Leigh. SHe ended up not getting her record deal until much later and I worked at OpryLand on a Huge Roller coaster. That was fun! We stayed in Nashville about a year and moved back home to Indiana to pursue our family goals. I ended up doing several odd jobs until running my own contracting business. I didn't play any music at all for about 8 years. I did, however, become a serious golfer. I got my handicap down to 1. Then I somehow got "sucked in" again by a local guy names Rodney Collins. He had a local band and I started playing some with him. We quickly became great friends and the music bug got me again. WIth the economy in Indiana going down the tubes.... it was hard to make a living so we decided to move again. Back to nashville it was.. Actually Murfreesboro. Schools are better there!! About six months of playing the clubs on Braodway and I got my first chance to play with an artist again. It was a friend deal. Nashville is all about who you know isn't it?? Well anyway, I went to work with Andy Griggs. Man, what a great singer. ITs a shame his carreer isn't doing any better. He is a GREAT singer! I was soon after named Band Leader by Andy and we had a fun time! After about a year of that, I got another call (again from a friend) about this girl from AMerican Idol. I had to check this out. It turned out to be Kellie Pickler. I interviewed with about 4 different people from 19 and her manager and got the job as Band Leader and was given full raines on putting a band together. WOW... i got to choose whoever I wanted. My first call was to Gregg Lohman. I figured if I got Gregg, I could get anyone else I wanted because everyone loves to play with Gregg!! We then talked and put a great band together and my first gig with Kellie was on the TV spot at the Grand Ol Opry! THen a few days later, we played the Today Show, THe View and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. What a cool weekend !! A few months went by and I was promoted to Tour Manager as well as band Leader. I was playing acoustic guitar as well. I had a full plate but loved it! In the beginning, Kellie was a blast to hang around but after 7 months or so, I could see the business dragging her down as well. Very demanding schedule and it took its toll on her. That was alot for a young girl to take-in all in one year. NOW.. I am currently playing with an artist on Lyric Street named Marcel. We are currently doing a radio tour to promote the realease of his new album.
