Danny Cadra

Danny’s traditional country style has been inspired by Bob Wills’ old-style western swing, Merle Haggard’s heart-piercing ballads, Dwight Yoakum’s honky-tonk revolution, and George Strait’s dedication to keep traditional country alive in today’s modern country charts. Most importantly, Danny just wants to make sure that his audience is graced by the sound of real country music. Danny Cadra is the lead vocalist and rhythm acoustic guitar player and his roots are in Andrews, Texas. Danny began playing the piano at the age of six and then started playing the trumpet in junior high school. After making the Texas all-state band twice in high school he was awarded a scholarship from Texas Tech University for music performance. Danny eventually joined the Marines in 1999. After three and a half years as an airframes mechanic on helicopters, he returned to his musical roots by auditioning for and making the Marine band in Hawaii, which was where he had been stationed prior to the audition. It was then that his Officer in Charge discovered his unique vocal ability and "ordered" him to sing as one of his collateral duties. He also started playing the guitar seriously during that time. Throughout his time in the Marine band Danny sang for numerous generals, the governor of Hawaii, the Secretary of the Navy, and during the pre-game of the University of Hawaii vs. Alabama football game aired on ESPN in front of 55,000 fans. He also opened for Neal McCoy at the Bayfest Festival in Kaneohe Bay, HI. Just one year after Danny was out of the Marines, he landed a gig as the opening act for Charlie Daniels on New Year's Eve 2004 in Artesia, NM. Danny attended South Plains College in Levelland, TX and studied commercial music, which gave him the necessary tools to become a professional musician. After attending South Plains College for two years, Danny took a band on the road for 10 months as a national touring act. Danny is now living in Nashville, TN where he is taking his talent to the next level.
