About Me

A gentleman never tellsWell, what do you really need to know? This space is largely for mouthing off about things that bug me, pondering my existence, discussing life as a returning (yet again) student, trying to interest people in the books I publish (and more importantly, getting people to buy them -- come on folks, look at that friends list below -- some of those folks are starving authors and artists), hanging out with yet more author types, and trying to say snappy things like, "Ow, my spleen!" or, "Oooooooooo-tay!"
Plus, I'm infinitely wise, though I get all my advice from the magic 8 ball:
And apparently I can't colour within the lines, because they say if I were a US State, I'd be:

The Moon!
You frequently take small steps, but you think very highly of each and every one of them. This aloof attitude doesn't begin to reflect how high and mighty you actually are, though you are able to reflect light onto others when it seems appropriate. Whether the glass is half full, half empty, waxing pedantic, or even crescent-shaped is something ever-changing in your perspective. These mood swings at least follow a consistent cycle, one that makes others believe you have mystical powers. Ultimately, your head is always in the clouds and you just can't seem to stay grounded.

(I didn't know the moon counted as a state, hence my confusion)
And if I were a country I'd be:

The United Nations!
Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long way to go. You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of beating each other about the head and torso. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result. But your heart is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.

My Interests

Well, lessee.
There's reading and writing I suppose.
And I'm interested in things of an anthropological nature (heavy on the culture, light on the physical, with a hearty dash of the linguistic.

I like persons, though I'm not usually fond of people.
Oh, and animals.

I'd like to meet:

People who aren't ashamed to know me:
Sorry, but I don't want to have a top 8 field, I want random people showing up in my friends space. So until they put the old randomizer function back in, if you're going to be snoopy about the folks who aren't embarassed to know me, you need to view them all at once .

You're Lolita!
by Vladimir Nabokov
Considered by most to be depraved and immoral, you are obsessed with sex. What really tantalizes you is that which deviates from societal standards in every way, though you admit that this probably isn't the best and you're not sure what causes this desire. Nonetheless, you've done some pretty nefarious things in your life, and probably gotten caught for them. The names have been changed, but the problems are real. Please stay away from children.

Living in Sepia

Just finished another story, which caused my wife, after she read it, to move slowly away from me and not turn her back. I suppose this is a good thing?
