The Bolsheviks (also sometimes known as The Viks) have been together for a few years now and have played with the likes of The Anti-Nowhere League, The UK Subs, The Damned, 999, etc. hence there are punk leanings. However due to the broad mix of influences brought from the individual members of the band this has produced a unique sound of their own. Is it punk, is it rock, is it experimental? Its hard to categorise the band in terms of genre, hence they appeal to a wider audience. The Bolsheviks use four sets of vocals which gives a strong live performance.
They have been a huge inspiration to many young bands in the South West over the years and have always supported and encouraged younger bands in what they are doing.
Through Andre of 'Maninblack' NYC and Gary Bushell (who have both been a great support and inspiration to the band) The Bolsheviks were asked to contribute a track to a tribute album to the '4-Skins' The Good, The Bad & The 4-Skins (Workers United Records NYC).
The Viks forthcoming CD was recorded at Whitehouse Studios in Kewstoke, Weston Super Mare as the band opted for tape format rather than digital to keep the sound as honest as possible.
