Punk Rock, stopping animal cruelty, I'm not a vegetarian, but am concious of the suffering that animals face at the hands of barbaric governments like Canada and Japan amongst others. I'm a fucking realist and realise that people will wear leather, wool and eat meat. My problem is the inhumane way animals are killed and the countless unesscesary cases of crulety for the sake of it. My other love in life is music, mostly punk, but there are great songs from most types of musicians and bands in different styles and categories. Being 43 , I was around for a lot of good times in music, first off I loved "Glam Rock/Pop" , I make no fucking apologies for that, SLADE, MUD, T REX, GARY GLITTER & THE GLITTER BAND, SUZI QUATRO, even THE BAY CITY ROLLERS, but by '76 that scene had died, and the old shit head groups like Deep Purple and the likes, were ripping off the punters to the extreme, welcome then our saviours "THE SEX PISTOLS" , and the real birth of punk, not I have to say that scene in New York. Since then I've always loved punk and Ska, when that went through a lull in the early 80's I was into YAZOO and DEPECHE MODE and even the HUMAN LEAGUE. But my first real music love is Punk and always will be. As you will see I love ALIZEE, the French temptress , also LEONARD COHEN, BOB DYLAN and the legend JOHNNY CASH. So don't say us punks have narrow minded musical tastes, we appreciate most types, but we also hate a good few, I hate Rap, can't stand that fucking hip hop shit and blues is also a non runner for me. But we can't love every type of music then can we ?
People that love punk music as much as I do , it's turned into such an underground thing now , that it's hard as fuck keeping up with the news only for the mobiles and my PC. So , if you love Punk rock , send me an email, visit my punk website , www.freewebs.com/punkpolls. Girls and fella's that are into the scene, even those that aren't, I've met some great people here that I thought I had nothing in common with. Anyone that loved the 80's scene must have something in common with me, from YAZOO to DEPECHE MODE, Synth music all the way up to SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK and so on. All music is great except for that rap hip hop shit thats been stuffed down our throats 24/7 by MTV. - Live the real scene, support the real bands, fuck MTV , go out and see a few gigs.

..Music means everything to me, be it punk, classical, rock, pop and so on. Every genre has something good for people , well except for that rap and hip hop East/West coast shit.As regards my main love it's punk, punk and more punk! Though to be truthful I love most types of music, it's just the arseholes that sing it sometimes piss me off. I do hate Rap, R&B, Jazz and Blues. Can't stand that crap! On the punk front , I grew up loving punk from the UK. - Very few of the American bands seemed to match what I wanted to listen to, THE RAMONES were the exception back in the 70's. All praise has to go JOHNNY ROTTEN and THE SEX PISTOLS for opening that door and turning me onto the music that would change my life and continues to do so. Other bands that followed in their footsteps that are worthy of mention are , THE CLASH, ANWL, COCKSPARRER, COCKNEY REJECTS, BLITZ, TOY DOLLS, SLF, UK SUBS, and on the American front , THE RAMONES,and WENDY O' WILLIAMS. Nowadays , RANCID , TEXAS TERRI, THE DROPKICK MURPHYS, FLOGGING MOLLYS, THE BLOODY IRISHBOYS, are holding the flag well up there. On the Irish front, I support a brilliant Celtic/punk rock band called BLOOD or WHISKEY. A great bunch of lads , on the English front it's ANWL, COCKNEY REJECTS, CRASHED OUT, COCKSPARRER, THE ANGELIC UPSTARTS and THE BUSINESS. On the Scottish front , THE THREATS & THE EXPLOITED & BEERZONE. Full respect goes to those punks that battle to keep the faith and keep bringing us the music we live for. Sadly Wendy Williams is now dead, I loved her but she has a worthy replacement in TEXAS TERRI who gives such a kick ass show her fucking audience are out of breath from just watching her at the end of the gig. I also think that some punks never got the meaning about punk music diversifying like when SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK came on the scene. I loved them, and now SPUTNIK2, full credit to them for covering so many spheres of music all at once, true performers are those that can change and diversify rather than die in their own failure.
As regards "Ordinary" music, full respect to legends like JOHNNY CASH, LEONARD COHEN and BOB DYLAN also everyone who knows me, knows I love ALIZEE. I absoloutley adore her. ALIZEE, well she's French, has a beautiful voice, is so sexy, has a beautiful body and legs that you would climb Mount Everest for. Ok ,she's not punk either, but I don't care, to me she's perfection , personified! Tellement y vous avez le , retirer son tableau one mon le profit tableaux et s'en aller une faire des remarques.
MICHAEL COLLINS, a film about the greatest Irish man that ever lived, my hero ,and a film I watch over and over again. Liam Neeson ,stars as the main character and does a brilliant job, my home is a shrine to Collins, with pictures and busts of him everywhere. I go to the spot where he was shot 3 or 4 times a year and to his grave in Glasnevin cemetry as well. THE BOONDOCK SAINTS, I love this film, especially the music used at the start of the film, (The Blood Of Cu Chulainn by Michael & Jeff Danna if anyone is looking for it). Black comedy at its best. JERRY MAGUIRE, I usually don't go for tear jerkers or womens type of films but this is such a feel good film with a brilliant story, I just love it. As well as that, I did security for Tom Cruise on the set of "Far and Away" 5 years before he made this one. Tom Cruise is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, no airs or graces about him. He deserves all the success he gets in life. BRAVEHEART (Mel Gibson), ROB ROY (Liam Neeson) amd DANCES WITH WOLVES (Kevin Costner) and ADAM & PAUL , a black comedy about two drug addicts in Dublin. Well made and well worth a look.
I love watching old clips from the 70's of punk bands in action , mainly on TOTP 2, I did love watching P-Rock on satellite , till they closed it down , so now all we have is a load of rap shit and R&B and shit like that. I can't stand that fucking crap music ! Besides that, I love ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES, FAWLTY TOWERS, DADS ARMY, and lately I've been getting into THE VICAR OF DIBLEY.
No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs - Johnny Rotten, Cockney reject - Jeff Stinky Turner, El Sid - (Sid Vicious) - David Dalton, Vicious - The Art Of Dying Young - Mark Paytress, Get the message, anything to do with punk !
John Lydon, Nick Culmer, and Michael Collins. All for different reasons. Johnny cos, well fuck it, he was the man, he walked the walk and talked the talk. He's been there, done that and has nothing left to prove to anyone. Animal, well cos he's a mate, a decent genuine guy, who always looks out for his fans, one of the very few guys in the punk music industry that is a hero to me. And Michael Collins, well, a legend. The greatest Irishman that ever lived, looking at the shitheads we have now, it's a fucking disgrace to the memory of "The Big Fella"Also people who spend their time unselflessly helping those who can't help themselves, especially children. Please add my friends, ROCK AGAINST CHILD PORNOGRAPHY to continue the crusade.
